Although I don't understand how reasonable minds can differ on this subject, it is apparent that there are two distinct opinions. I think Hank Flick was an embarrassment. I cannot tell you how many visitors I have heard comment derisively on the MSU PA announcer with the high pitch, nasal voice. What is amazing is that it took so long to replace him. Those of you who respect "the Ninja" should take note of the fact that replacing Flick was one of the first actions he took as AD. His action corroborates my opinion and the many other State fans who share it. I have heard some say that they are glad that he was replaced in football, but they liked him in basketball. He was a clown at the basketball games too. I think he was worse at basketball games because he played a larger role, placing himself at the center of attention.
The new PA announcer was a perfect choice. He has a great voice--neutral accent--and he does not try to be the star. He does what a PA announcer is supposed to do--introduce the players and coaches in a manner that directs the fans' attention on the people being introduced--not on the announcer. As he matures in the job, the occasional glitches will be ironed out. Just give him time. </p>
