In Floods defense, we actually converted on that 4th down play, by 6". The refs did not spot the ball right. Also Maryland's TD earlier that was brought back was indeed a TD. The refs missed that too.

Was a Flood supporter or at least wait until the season is over to evaluate his body of work. In another thread I noted that until today over the last 2 years the teams we lost to had an outstanding won loss record. This loss is inexcusable. I agree it is time to move on. I felt the same about Bateman, Burns, Anderson, Graber and Shea. We need to find lightning in a bottle, much like Schiano's hiring. It will not be easy to do so and I expect in the not too distant future some fans will be calling for the new guy's head. It has been that way for decades, even with Schiano.

I'm a convert. I think Flood needs to go but allow me to say the following. Unless recruiting is improved dramatically and you start building some depth no coach will win with this team. Right now we would lose against a mature (seniors) D1AA team.

It's a case of throwing out the trash because it smells
Then the only thing to fear is if that trash is replaced by cheap junk because that bad smell will probably come back because of the on the cheap replacement .

BS. He got stood up before he got to the line of scrimmage. Our O line is swiss cheese. The spot was correct.

The right tackle didn't even have a name on his jersey. Is he a walk on?

Flood has been a disappointment on and off the field particularly this year. Having said that, I find it hard to see how he does not warrant another year back. At any rate we have no money to effectively go after a big name coach and will be relegated to fishing for potentially successful MAC coaches or lower P5 tier assistants.

Yes, on the day we loose a tough game, this might be tough to swallow but Flood wholly deserves another year. Go Rutgers!!

It never should have gotten to the point where those 6" were relevant

If you are a manager and one of your employees is costing you money because of his gross incompetence, would you let him stay in that position because you can't be sure how his replacement will be?

In 100% of the cases you fire the employee who is not performing at a level anywhere near their peers. Hopefully the replacement (a successful MAC coach, Schiano, whoever) will do better, but you know with certainty that the current employee is abysmal and will continue to cost you money. So why not take a chance on a new hire? At worst you lose money in both scenarios, and at best you get a good employee who will make you money.

Madhat: As a NJ resident and RU fan I'm afraid that's exactly what's going to happen.

In truth, Flood's performance doesn't warrant him getting one more day, let alone one more year. -He's had his chance, and he's shown himself to be lacking in the extreme.

I know a woman that has been getting beat by her husband over the passed few years. She said the beatings are bearable but she is thinking about leaving. She asked for my advice...I told her, give him more time, things will get better.
