rutgersROB, sorry dude but the percentage of fans who want flood gone are way higher than the ones who want him to stay. look at the polls they have done on this board if you want. I really don't think you want to see it though

why do a couple fans think they can fly banners and do such things and think they represent the whole fan base...some of us dont want flood gone, some would like a new coach at seasons end or even weeks end....but the go fund me and a banner flying over the stadium is embarrassing for the entire fan base and not everyone is on board with... some of you are delusional and should maybe find another team to root for...we are not an elite program in college football..we are still building, not rebuilding...because we had one one win over a ranked team in 2006 you think we are football royalty, we are not...i understand you want to win but seriously some of you are clueless.

We are still building???? 250 years later

Hey you are going to do what you want kyk, but I don't know something just doesn't seem right about the banner idea. There was something very cool about the GoFundMe page everybody rallying together, seeing the numbers increase and how it would have grown and grown over the next coming weeks.
I don't get the same gut feeling about the banner. Perhaps my gut is influenced by Ron Jeremy really liking the idea. I don't know.

During the Gruninger regime some fans unfurled a banner in the old stadium reading "The Red Are Dead With Fred at the Head." They were promptly escorted from the premises. I was there when it happened, as for many stellar highlights since my college days.

5781...you gained a lot of respect there. I might think you're crazy but certainly respect you more as a stand up person! I think I might know you but it doesn't matter...you are not afraid to be counted or known.

The administration may want to fire Flood already. They may be waiting for the report by the outside company they hired to investigate the football program. The admin may be looking for a reason to fire Flood with cause so we don't have to pay his buyout. I think it would be best to donate money directly to Rutgers and earmark it for a new football head coach. The more money we donate for a new head coach the better.

I ordered a blank white flag to spray paint the #FireFlood hashtag.

@RU5781 if you have something specific for the banner I would like to know and incorporate that into my flag. Thanks.
I would just think "Fire Flood", "Flood must go", or if you want shock value, "The worst Flood since Sandy"...

You guys need to seriously reconsider doing any of the things being discussed in this thread. Huge signs, organized chanting, or a freaking plane are absolutely the wrong way to go about voicing our displeasure and will be very detrimental.

I donated $100 in the first hour that the GoFundMe was up (when it was real money and not at all clear everybody would be getting refunds). I want Flood gone after this season. But I don't need him to be gone if they somehow miraculously win the last three games and then win a bowl game. It aint going to happen, but I am willing to sit on my hands for one more game and let the players help decide the fate of their coaches.

Now, this whole investigation and report thing is a big wildcard - if the admin is determined to throw more negative stuff out in the media by releasing a report that casts a negative light on the coaching staff, then they will be forced to fire him at that point. And if all that happens, then I would have to think it was their intent to get rid of him when they pushed for the report in the first place.

But leaving that possibility aside, I think the huge explosion of attention the GoFundMe caused, and more importantly, the LOUD and CLEAR message that will be coming from the fanbase and major donors if the rest of the season goes as I expect it to (badly) I believe will be enough for a change to be made. If it isn't, then it will be apparent they are simply bound and determined not to spend any money. But when it comes down to it, they would be losing a ton of money and pushing away tons of long time supporters. Faced with that reality I think they will make the right decision.

With all that said, again, there do not need to be an organized efforts to embarrass the school, coachesm players or frankly the fans who are there to have a good time. We all know there will be plenty of booing if the game is going poorly. That and the empty seats will be spectacle enough. Seriously, think before you do something stupid.

I think we did. The University shut it down...

What I mean was call up Athletic Development and tell them that you will pledge $X to go toward replacing the coach. It gives them an idea of how many smaller donors would line up for that goal and how much money would be out there for it.

Rutgers is wise to not accept money raised through the GoFundMe campaign. The money is being raised for a specific purpose and Rutgers would be liable if they accepted the money and the goal of the campaign was not achieved (for whatever reason). People have donated to charities in the past simply to sue the charity.

This is the complete opposite of bush league... Some of you old timers just don't get it anymore... Like the whole gofundme? 1.5mil is a pipe dream.. That's not the point. It grabs attention and makes a statement...
The statement it makes is, "we're petulant whiners who can't build things."

Stupid idea. Do you realize there are people who still are homeless since Sandy? You want to tie your feelings of I can't wait, I want it now to replace the coach of a football team that most of the state could care less about with people who are truly suffering? I'm sure those that are still waiting for state or federal money to get back in their homes will be pleased to see that state money might be going to replace a football coach at the State University.

I said shock value. Nice reading comprehension there.

You think they don't realize Flood is a joke?
Apparently not, as they have committed to come play for him. Floods future will take its natural course and flying a stupid banner isn't going to effect anything other than give more bad press to an already bad situation. If you want to set this program back even further, just start the chants, fly your banners and give money to the "fire Flood gang". The recruits will flee, transfer begin and the Terry Shea years will return...quickly!

Of I recall last year season ticket holders were receiving calls yo renew before the season was over...please correct me if my timing is wrong. But this too would be a great time to voice our opinions directly to the caller and doecugicslly state you eill not renew under the current situation. Our perhaps an organized email campaign to Barchi and JH staying what your feeling is regarding ticket renewal either not at all or reducing your order. To me that's a message in cold cash numbers. Maybe something Barchi can digest and perhaps provide JH with some solid numbers to inform Bob that's the real deal he's looking at as the only thing he seems to be concerned about is numbers.

5781...what section are your seats? Don't need the exact location. I'm in 106. Are you one of our fb letterwinners?

Now this is the type of response that is acceptable, constructive and how the fan base WHO CARE ABOUT OUR SCHOOL & PROGRAM should go about voicing their displeasure. Instead some other Einsteins here think it's a better idea to public shame the team, program, recruits and school by self inflicting more negative press in the most dumpster fire way possible.

Leave Flood in charge, and we ARE the Terry Shea era.

Yeah, why would they want that, when right now their money goes to a guy who commits academic fraud and had 6 players arrested.

Hey you all know my position, but i'd advise against the planes and everything.

I loved the gofundme because it ended up generating money. I would find another way to fund raise and i'm with all of you to do it.

The way I see it, if Flood is not getting fired, then why scare off the recruits in the process with all this negative press grabbing crap.. We will lose some good recruits and then Flood stays. Nice work. Either raise your money or STFU

I sure would hope Rutgers would permanently ban anyone who would do this from all future athletic events at Rutgers. JMO
