Can you imagine how depressing it would be if he had not spent his brief time here. LT would still be here and would had run off Byrne by now. Croom would have given a speech signing day about getting guys with a lot of character. Raffo would be beginning to ***** about the NCAA because that is all he was taught. Our baseball camps or recruiting strategy would continue to bring in average talent. The candyman would be running from dugout to dugout doing the Maroon and White cheer because he would be the only one at the games. Last week at theKentucky game we would have been forced by LT to pay for the T shirts in our seats. I know everyone joked about the flyovers and flowers but this guy should be remembered for years to come.

could give a damn about the flowers. seriously, though, you're spot on. it would be a depressing state of affairs. campus would have some kind of drab sepia tone to it. in short: it would suck. thanks Doc.

and his other foot halfway up Polks butt also. Shorta like a kungfu double chop kick at the same time. With a peeping ninja looking on.

I'm a big Doc supporter- f the daffodils and the art kids with their finger paints- but I think this comment is misguided.

...if Croom had gotten another year (which he very well could have), the already struggling MS State football program would have sunken to an all new level of low. Ole Miss have won 10 games this year because they would have beaten us senseless again. With their success and our inability to help ourselves, I truly think our program would have suffered irreparable damage. Attendance drops to all new lows, money drops, recruiting hits record levels of terribleness and it all spirals out of control. Not to mention the one sport we can claim a championship bloodline in is also geting buttf*cked by Polk 2. It would have been a double wammy of dick sucking. And it very well could have happened

I'm getting sick at my stomach thinking about it.

the comment is geared toward what the mood would be like if Doc Fogelsong didn't give LT the boot and not toward Doc's fetish for army brown.

If you were on or around campus during his time you too would have wanted to run him out on a rail. I am glad that he had a part in the LT/Croom/Raffo thing, but he was the worst president our university has ever had. He single handedly destroyed bid day as well(although that doesnt matter to everyone)

Do you think that he will be remembered for kicking LT to the curb or how bid day was ruined one year. Your legacy is revealed after you are gone. Our athletic program has a very bright future simply due to canning LT and the people that Byrne has sorrounding him from coaches to the new style of running things. Just look at the increase of Bulldog Club member since Byrne took over. Like I said if LT is still here we might still have Croom, Raffo would be our coach, and we would have our basketball players paying for their meals on out of town trips.</p>

The quirky General was the best thing to happen to Mize State in years. He was egotistical and controversial, but he darned sure upset the apple cart of status quo and continual suckage. The man definitely deserves a statue for getting MSU out of the dark ages. I wish he had remained in charge for another year, maybe two.

He was controversial. (Clint Eastwood voice) But you gotta ask yourself....

When Fogey left, was MSU better or worse than when he started? I would say emphatically that MSU is better from him being here.

that is what transformational leaders are supposed to do. you should rock the boat and then get the hell out of dodge. the man fulfilled both of those things. then you follow up a transformational leader with someone who can now manage the change and who is a homer who can calm the beating drums from those that are mad. we did that too. such a great time to be a state student, alum, or fan.

THAT was almost as good as kicking out LT!! I hate that he ruined the petty lives of so many who feel like they have to "belong" to a group where "thank you, sir, may I have another" is necessary to make them feel important.

Athletics and greek aside, He was the worst president State has ever had. All faculty, staff, students and most of the alumni disliked him by the end of his tenure.

I, like the masses of alumni, was willing to overlook his shortcomings - even at the expense of the students - just so that he could do what he was hired to do..... Shake up the old school and start us on a new path for the 21st century. Pissing off students, professors, and the "old guard" was what he was hired to do and he was successful at forcing through change. I truly believe we, students, teachers, and alumni, are all the better for it.

so I can understand your view. I just didnt think the low that he left us at was worth it. Although I think Keenum is going to be a great president. Hopefully time will tell

Faculty and staff, the ones that live off of thegovernment titty for all of their life. This whole thread was about him **** canning LT not 17ing bid day for some damn flowers. If he had not come here for a short periodof timeof future would not look so great.
