Football Announces Additional Signee

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 23, 2017) – West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that Fontez Davis, a 6-0, 194-pound cornerback from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, has signed a letter of intent and grant in aid for the 2017-18 academic year.

  • Recorded 36 tackles, including 25 unassisted, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception returned for a touchdown
  • Helped lead Butler CC to a 7-5 record, an appearance in the Salt City Bowl and a No. 17 national ranking among junior colleges
  • Had two solo tackles and returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown against Hutchinson
  • Registered five tackles, including four solo, against Highland
  • Assisted on three tackles at Garden City
  • Finished with a season-high nine tackles against Dodge City, including six solo tackles and three pass breakups
  • Had three tackles at Iowa Western, including one unassisted tackle and a pass breakup
