Well that’s one thing I won’t be doing….because I literally couldn’t care less.

If we win, it really doesn’t mean anything, or change anything about the narrative.

If we lose, it really doesn’t mean anything, tell us anything we don’t already know, or change the narrative.

For all of the above reasons, I’m not wasting my time watching it.
You here posting tells us you care at least some.

It was implied that our biggest investment wasn’t making the trip to the bowl game. Basically saying shapen was a large investment. Which was false. It’s been rumored that Luke K was making over a million again false. Also stated he wasn’t going to the bowl. He is, so again another false statement

we are investing in staff facilities and a huge huge amount in NIL.
You were correcting things that Perd got wrong. In the first few comments, you specify those amounts, but I didn't see that Perd had claimed 7 figured was being earned.

Do you see the confusion? You are correcting Perd for something Perd didn't claim.

Yeah I see what your saying but it’s been all over this board that 7 figures was what Luke K was getting. It’s been said on this board Shapen was getting a lot. I think most understood why I brought that up. Apparently not.

For one Shapen wasn’t the biggest investment.
Then who was? Just about EVERY P4 school’s projected starting QB is their biggest expenditure. If not, they are doing something very wrong. Shapen was widely reported to be making $1.2-$1.3 million last year, when he didn’t even make it to October. And had he made it through the season, that probably would have been a bargain. This year, he easily got $400k-$500k bare minimum just from the revenue share. Even if he’s not quite hitting 7 figures from NIL, the total package is still way over $1 million annually. From below, you can see the average pay for a halfway decent, proven starter begins at $1.5 million, with portal players often commanding way mo:

IMG_0860.jpeg
Not sure how that rumors got started so that’s kids family is extremely wealthy and while we paid him he wasn’t making 7 figures
Lol. You think he’s got more family wealth than Arch Manning? You know, the guy that sucked while pocketing $5-$6 million this year? You have absolutely no clue how much money is flying around in this current system, or what it takes just to land mediocre talent at the QB position.

Now the other I’m assuming you’re making assumptions about is LK. Again. We didn’t pay him 1MM.
I never for one second thought LK was the biggest salary. Good lord.

He had a nice deal but nowhere near the rumors.
I truly hope you’re joking. If he has a “nice deal”…..as in, even Top 30 on our current roster, that’s just more evidence that shows how truly clueless this staff and our NIL operation is. We don’t have extra money to be giving “nice deals” to 3rd string QB’s.

Also, he’s going to the bowl game but I’m sure you missed that
No, I didn’t. As stated above, it’s be an absolute embarrassment if we were dumb enough to throw the bank at LK.

Hutz was on a contract that allowed us to get out relatively unscathed as he had a mitigation clause. He’s on Auburns staff now DA.
Ohhhh. A mitigation clause. That’s fantastic. So, we get to subtract the $300k he’ll be making as Auburn’s outside linebackers coach from the $1.1 million per year we owe for the next 3 years, and only pay him $800k next year! Awesome!

I wasn’t a fan of re hiring ZA but the guy was on staff at FSU last year and OM the year before. He was a decent DC before he was an terriabke HC Adding Brock ( DC at UCONN) was big,
Our defense was a liability in 2023 with those two running the show without an offense that could keep them off the field, and now its about to get even worse, as is the talent

Ty Warren has upside and we are adding a Saftey coach and an assistant DL coach.
A coach with upside? That’s a new one.

On offense adding Bush and John’s were big hires and still adding more staff after bowl including off field staff for scouting
Yet we retained the worst assistant of all (Loadholt) who singlehandedly handicapped our offense more than anyone.

Facilities. We are expanding and renovating the Seal complex and adding the IPF not to mention some improvements to DWS
Who cares? Again, we need players. Not buildings. $60 million for an IPF when we already have one is a giant waste of resources.

I’d say you were wrong a lot
Still not seeing it. 2-16 in P4 games. 1-15 in SEC play. This staff and players aren’t getting it done. It’s phenomenal that anyone would argue otherwise.

Hilarious. Nice work of AI….
You’re copium really coming through.
Shapen grandfather was an oil man in the Shreveport area worth several serval millions. His father owns several dealerships in Louisiana and Texas. We didn’t pay 1MM to him in 23/24

Yes we had to have a backup to shapen and brought Luke in. It wasn’t dumb what’s dumb is posters like you who want to take message board BS and act like it’s fact

Total defense in 23 wasn’t great but it was about middle of SEC.
We have the NIl and money to upgrade salaries and facilities But you don’t give so your kinda part of the problem anyway
I’m doe providing facts to you. Especially when your source is AI

None of the numbers you are claiming to be be correct and incorrect are publicly known.
This argument is kinda funny to watch because it's not like anyone can actually prove their comment is correct.

I've been a fan since the 70's.

I've yet to see any long-term plan for football, except the RTGDB crowd, right or wrong, rearing their heads every so often.

ETA - this is why I have kept quiet during the discussions. I don't have a good answer.
We had a plan when we hired Jackie. We had a plan when we hired Mullen. We had a plan when we hired Leach. We don’t have a plan now and haven’t since Leach passed away.

Tell me you haven’t kept up with the current changes within the program without telling me you haven’t kept up.
Huge investment in NIl, huge investment in staff both on filed and off field. Huge investment in facilities. More to come.
A lot of folks get tired of hearing stuff like that every year. When it starts showing up on the scoreboard people will notice, and I think that's fair.

Tennessee had more fans at Starkville than they do at Music City Bowl.
I'm only halfway watching and haven't seen a crowd shot yet, but you'd think they'd have a good crowd there.

We played Wake Forest a few years ago in the Music City. Good crowd for a cold night, and the game was pretty good too. We didn't blow them out by any means. We bought club level seats through MSU and assumed they'd be good seats, but they were inside the goal line by a good bit. Lots of WF fans on the 50, lower level.

Official just got bowled over. He's trying to look like no big deal, but he's in pain.

Still feel we should be able to play a low level D1 or top level D2 school instead of our spring game. Like one of the Dakota or Montana schools, etc.....and it would count in the standings for the fall. You'd start the fall either 1-0 or 0-1. That would give us a regular season of 13 games. The new spring game would be just like any of the fall games. Band, cheerleaders, the whole 9 yards. Just play it whenever the baseball game wasn't being played....day or night on Super Bulldog Weekend. Game would be included with our season ticket package. SBW will likely be the LSU baseball series weekend.

Then name the highest paid MSU players, and how much they are making….oh wise one. Let’s hear it.

Seriously - can’t wait to hear your spin on how a staff and admin that collectively has a .111 winning percentage in the P4 and a loss at home by 4 TD’s to Toledo is somehow playing 3D chess with its “investments”….. while everyone else is playing checkers.

We’ll all be waiting on your non-response.

Make no mistake. When the game comes around Friday night, I'll be locked in.
Me too. It’s a big opportunity for us to show we can maybe be competitive going forward.

this is a terrible idea. You’d lose a week of spring practice on game prep to play a game nobody would care about anyway.

Funny. I’ve been hearing for years how great our NIL war chest is and how we’re so smart in saving it rather then spending it. We should be winning a national championship soon. Or at least erase the national debt. Fact is if we’ve got NIL money we’re not spending (and recruiting rankings and on field results prove we’re not spending much), we’ve got even bigger idiots running our show then I think we do.

We'd better have something. Well, I have seen that college football is money-driven, and frankly, we don't have many doctors and lawyers in our money base—just the cold hard facts.

More likely, we don’t have a lot of nil money but for some reason it’s verboten to say that plainly

Yeah. It doesn’t take a genius to see this. And we didn’t help matters by overpaying for a 3rd string QB who only got a few snaps vs Alcorn.

If you remember, that was a face saving maneuver after losing out on Van Buren and Arnold. Complete waste of money. An experienced FCS grad qb could have been had for about 10% the cost. Really dumb

I think we were fine with letting Van Buren go. Got lucky losing out on Arnold. But yeah, stupid. You have to evaluate players & pick either Taylor or Luke K. Lebby’s indecision cost us this fall.

I’m not talking hindsight, I’m say8ng at the time it was said VB was let go because Lebby had an in with Arnold, and when he was left high and dry, they scrambled to get the top ranked guy on the board….

You’ve missed a lot of good football games on random Tuesdays or Thursdays the last couple of weeks -last Saturday even.

I think it’s possible that we have more NIL than we think but we are just stupid in how we spend it. So basically, even worse than what you said.

I’ll give Selmon credit for fundraising, he can do that. But so could Loaferz. That alone don’t make you an AD.

we appear to be throwing ideas against the wall and seeing what sticks instead of executing a proven formula.
along w/ throwing all this money they keep bringing up, which nobody really knows anything about. If money is being spent on all these facilities, players, and coaches, when is there going to be a return on those investments and how long do you keep throwing it against the wall and at these players, coaches, and facilities and still go 0-8 or 1-7 in conference?

I also love the little fǔcktards that say I don’t watch the bowl games because the players don’t care. No, you don’t watch bowl games because your balls are probably in your wife’s purse and you are probably watching Kardashians or some shít. If you did watch games you would have seen plenty of games where players were getting into scuffles and clearly demonstrating that they cared about winning.

DS needs to go on a honeymoon again so Hadad can purge this board of all the estrogen.

Oh give me a break. The amount of mental gymnastics it takes to turn “some guys don’t care about bowl games anymore” into a weird masculinity purity test is honestly impressive in the most embarrassing way possible. Not everything has to be filtered through this caveman checklist of what real men are supposedly required to like, as if enjoying or not enjoying a December exhibition game sponsored by a lawn mower company determines anyone’s worth.
