It's been discussed at length how Cam-gate changed the relationship between many State people and their thoughts about Auburn, including mine. However, are we not in position now where Auburn could be our best friend?

If Bama wins out, either Bama or Ole Miss will go to Atlanta. Not desirable.
If Ole Miss wins out, they go to Atlanta. Not desirable.
If Auburn wins out though, they stick both Bama and Ole Miss with loss #2, and since we own the head to head, we could win the West with a 3-1 record in our last four.

The scary part is if Auburn beats UM and Bama (certainly possible), beats TAMU (probable), but loses to in Athens (very possible), while we go 2-2 (losses in Ttown and Oxford) and all other favorites win (like Bama in BR), then a four way tie is possible, and I think Auburn would win that. We would be 1-2, Bama would be 1-2 and AU and UM would be 2-1, with Auburn holding the head to head over them.

I know I know......lots of football left to be played. The easiest scenario to cheer for right now is Auburn winning every single game they play because that gives everyone else losses and we hold the H2H tiebreaker. Same could be said for LSU but they already have two losses and need tons more help to get to Atlanta.

as the old saying goes, "The enemy of my enemy, is my friend." If Auburn can win out and that helps us go to the sec championship, i'm fine with that. we already took care of them. All we need to do is just win out, and things will be taken care of.

I think Auburn is going to take care of business in Oxford. I also think we are

going to have a fight on our hands, it comes with the ranking.

if we cant be in Atlanta we much prefer MSU to be there instead of the Inbred toothless nation or Ole MIss. that is an EASY choice.

And if State wins out, we go to Atlanta no matter what those 17ers do. Very desirable.

At this point, I could care less about cam. We have our own potential heisman winner playing right now and a chance to do something special.

However, I'm all for the easiest path to atlanta. Auburn needs to win out (lsu can, for that matter). Arkansas is gonna be a tough enough game this week, but if we can take care of business and play our hearts out against Bama, we can win out. A lot of football left...

I'm pulling hard for auburn an lsu the rest of the way.

Long shot (and undesirable) but possible for a five way tie in the SEC west at 6-2. Bama would need to lose to LSU. Auburn lose to Bama but beat TSUN.

There's a lot of football left to be played.

We will have to play well against Arkansas and play two outstanding games against Alabama and Ole Miss, and may need a ball to bounce our way. Having said that, any team that wins the west this year will ahve to have a ball bounce their way.

Ran the numbers ...

Of the 7 West teams, Arkansas has 4 SEC Losses and is mathematically eliminated. I don't see a way that aTm can win either with 3 SEC losses.

That leaves one team with no SEC losses (MSU), 3 with a single loss (OM, Bama & Auburn) and LSU with 2 SEC losses.

Four teams remain in serious contention while even LSU still has a 'shot.' Each and every one of the four, can win the West by simply winning out.

I pulled for LSU, knowing we owned the TB over them; will be a corndog fan again in two weeks when they play Bama. Will be seriously pulling for Auburn to beat OM on Sat 'cause we own the TB over Auburn too.

Could we all stop acting like Alabama and Mississippi are automatic losses?

17 Herbie, he's picked against us all year. 17 Lou and the rest of them too. We shouldn't be surprised that they're picking their name brands.

I want LSU and Auburn and A&M to run the table as a buffer (17 auburn, otherwise), but some of us sound like we need it to happen.

C'mon guys, we're not in danger, we are the danger!

If we play to our strength.. the power running game... and don't turn the ball over, mississippi can't beat us.. we had something like 35-37 called passes. That's too many. I realize part of that may have been due to Dak being hobbled (I know it now.. didn't know at the time). I was in the UK season ticket holders section and the guy sitting next to me asked "why would you guys ever pass the ball?"
