Absolutely brilliantly done. Sasaki shows why they are a leader in campus master planning. Really well done. We should follow it like an Atlas (or more currently, iPhone map).

It's not like they're saying that this is going to happen next year.
For reference- LSU's new stadium cost about 35 million and South Carolina's cost 20 million per what I found on the Internet. I found the LSU number off of a message board, so take it for what it's worth.
I'm not sure how much of that cost goes into putting in an entirely new field- with a drainage system and all of those things, and those stadium also needed a new outfield, which is something that we could also save some money on. There's nothing wrong with our fence, and really, we also don't need a scoreboard, although personally, I would like a new one, but again is a place where we could save some money as well. But all of those things that I mentioned were things that those new stadiums had to have and factored into the cost of the stadium.
But to answer your question- yeah, I do think that we have the stroke in baseball to pull in a 15-20 million dollar donation.
the previous master plan that came out earlier this decade had a basketball arena shaped like a comma.
Didn't they just replace all the chairbacks at DNF? The rendering looks nice, but it makes me wonder if there is any plan to do significant work to the stadium in the near future if they are replacing seats when the ultimate plan is to level the thing. Call me partial, but I think were are way behind already. I'm sure a good season or two would change things.

but that's why you ahve a long term plan. It tells you what to do when the time comes. I know its a foreign concept.
DNF really isn't that pressing b/c while other stadiums are being built that are nicer, ours is still really big and unique...but most of all, stadiums mean very little to baseball recruits.

I've always felt like in the past if the baseball team wanted something, they usually got it during the LT era. Whereas, the basketball team has had to beg for equipment and things like that.
As big of a baseball fan as I am, I still freely admit that the football stadium needing expanding is priority one right now, and the basketball team getting their practice facility is probably co-number one.
It's the baseball teams turn to wait for a little bit.
But, at the same time, I could see something like this happening 15-20 years down the road, and I don't see why it's so far fetched for that to happen.

And without knowing what the exact details are with the baseball stadium since this is something over a decade away, that may be another place to possibly save some money- they could conceivably take out the seats at the old grandstand and put them back in, assuming that the seats are in good condition.
And from that rendering, I can't really tell if they are thinking about tearing down the grandstand and rebuilding a new one, or if they are just going to add another deck to the old one. I think both are conceivable in that we know that the press box and the luxury boxes will be gone, so that would open up some space there to add a second deck. To me, it would be more conceivable- again assuming that the rendering is accurate- to tear the grandstand down and build a new deck because of the angle that the grandstand is built at.
You would either end up with a REALLY steep second deck or a lot of obstructed seats on the first deck.
