Lebbie is LAZY. By the far the laziest coach in miss state football history. The next hire should at least be able to take care of himself and be a coach that the kids can look up to.

A related question, have MSU fans turned their backs on Mississippi State after two poor seasons? Cheap ticket offers in lower level with parking passes seem to say that.
You could even add the 5 previous seasons of results before that ( Leach 19-16 overall 11-14 conference, Moorhead (14-12 overall 7-9 conference) Arnett 4-6, Knox 1-1, Lebby 2-10 overall 0-8 conference. That's a 7 season record of 40-45 overall and 19-39 in conference. That's mediocre results at best and the cost to fans of mediocrity goes up every season, not sustainable.

These haven’t been “poor” seasons. They have been complete train wrecks with the program headed backwards. I can handle bad teams if I feel like there is hope for the future and they are at least competing. I have never seen state this bad in my 4+ decades of watching them.

All of these kids still have a senior season left to play. A few high 3 stars may become 4 stars before it's over. Of course if they do they also might become LSU or Bama commits..lol. Seems like they are getting the kids they target. These last 2 weekends have been effective.

Does he have the same money to buy players as Kiffin does? If he does you may have a point.

I would say the biggest difference between Jackie's last three years and 2024 was that at least Jackie had some talent. He couldn't get them organized and motivated but there were some people on the roster who were physically gifted. Last year, especially on defense we had a bunch of guys that would have trouble making an NAIA starting roster.

Money isn’t the issue. Some relationship within the HS ranks were damned near destroyed by the last two staffs. The fact that this staff closed so well with the 25 HS and JUCO class was anything but lazy. This past portal haul was very good as well, considering how the past seasons turned out . Nothing was lazy. The lazy part was this take without doing any research.
Now, that’s not to say I have my head in the sand and all is well. I do think there needs to be some staff adjustments after this fall. But Lebby has done a good job of recruiting theses last two classes. We will see how the 26 class plays out in 5 months

State’s 2026 recruiting class is currently sitting at #47 nationally. It has zero 4 stars and only two (!!) MS high school commitments from a pretty good in-state crop. This is shaping up as the worst class in a very long time.

Have in-state recruits completely turned their backs on Mississippi State after two poor seasons? Has Lebby given up on the state?
When is signing day?

Yeah. I think we’ve made the decision to give up on football and focus on baseball, basketball & maybe a few of the minor sports. Which may be the right decision, at least short term.
No we haven't made that decision.

My biggest worry is the defensive commits. They are not SEC caliber. Some of the offense will be 4 star before the season is over. The offers on D are bad period

Our current class is rated 28. We will end up in the 20-30 range like we have been for the last 15+ seasons. Not sure why y’all are crying about recruiting in June

Well, that just makes it even that much more inexcusable. Recruiting is at an all time low with this coach.
It’s June. Wake me up in December.

and I’ve heard ALL TIME LOW a thousand times since recruiting sites became prevalent in early 2000.

This got a legit LOL :ROFLMAO:

I sort of suspect something along these lines too, but I'm not ready to decree it. What makes you so sure? Croom was pretty dang lazy too.
Yeah and Mullen was a lazy recruiter too!!! Yada yada yada

I will be shocked if we break the 30s at the end of the year. Our current ranking is based soley on the fact we have more commitments than any other SEC school, not on the quality of the recruits. Also, the defensive recruits are Sun Belt level. It's a joke. Lebby will need to make wholesale changes on the defensive staff at the end of the year, and who's going to want to sign up to work with a coach on the hot seat??

We finished about where we always have …mid 20s last recruiting season. It’s a long way to signing day
You're talking to people who refuse to pay 9 dollars a month for recruiting info but are never in doubt about what all of our issues are in football. You can't reason with people who have large opinions with almost zero inside information, and this board has about 10 times more of those than any other free state board on the internet. We have people on here b*tching about getting lights that literally everyone else in the conference has. They are idiots. Think the only thing that matters is NIL and you don't have to recruit, even when the money is even. They have no idea how recruiting works. That you can't actually just neglect facilities. Any of it. They know all though. Just ask them. When you go 2-10 and have sh*ttier facilities and stadium than every single program you're competing against, it's not going to matter if you offer an equal NIL offer to a kid. They are going to the better situation most of the time. But like you said, we went mid 20s last year at the end of the day. Probably will do the same next year, just like we have most of the time for the past 20 years.

So why the 17 did you respond to a post about Heavy Lebby being lazy? Get your feelings hurt again?
Um b/c the entire thread is talking about bad recruiting.

You said something about Lebby being bad at recruiting b/c he was lazy. Then you said something about croom being lazy at recruting.

I'm pointing out opinions are like A holes (you). They all stink and everyone has one. Many had the opinion that mullen was lazy at recruiting (he kind of was).

I'll judge lebby in another year when he has time to fix the lack of talent that Leach and Arnett left him. I'M A HUGE LEACH SUPPORTER B/F YOU GET YOUR PU$$Y CHAPPED.

$2.9 million Are your feelings gonna let you admit you are wrong? Ole double digit goat!
