Without coaching a down of competative football, Mullen has gotten an A+ in everything. He has been at most baseball games, taking time to visit with folks in LFL, he is around at campus events and seems genuinely interested in meeting new folks and promoting our football team. One of the most telling things about him is Saturday he was the first person to congratulate the ladies and mens basketball team when they were recognized during the Spring Game.

This type of interaction and involvement is a must for anyone to be successful at MSU. Croom failed miserably in this aspect, which I think could have saved him or bought him a couple more years had he done this. Us as a fanbase of course wants to see W's, but when times get rough, and they will for Mullen im sure, having this type of relationship with the community will go along way in the support the overall program receives. </p>

I continue to be amazed at the differences between the former regime and the current regime. Amazed and very happy. Anyone who suffered through the spring game last year and then saw the spring game and everything surrounding it this year, knows we have made a helluva transition.

I really believe Mullen will be a success here. It's remarkable what a 180 he is from the fat lazy walrus.

last week and I was lucky enough to leave work just as the interview started. He mentioned that he had a "notebook" where he kept a list of everything he liked and disliked about head coaches from every stint he's been at, all the way back to being a grad assistant at Syracuse. He's obviously got a lot of ideas, and a lot of good ones. I don't see there being much of a learning curve with him at all.
