You and @paindonthurt need to give up this whole genespagish deal trying to insult folks here like you know them in real life. Nobody gives a 17 who you are or who I am or who donates what or does not. We don't know each other and have no idea about what we do or don't do. So give that stupid shlt up, it makes you look like a lamebrain. You can put yourself out there if you want to, I mean we all know who Bruce, Bo and Charlie are, but it literally does not matter who the rest of us are. We're just random freaking people.

The idea here is to discuss ideas. We get it, you have an opinion. So do I and everybody else. But when you pull this douchebaggery about how much you donate, or pain is trying to bet people or whatever, it makes this shlt unreadable. It's worse than trolling.

That's my one and only attempt at leveling with you.
I'll give it up when you admit your IQ is below 110 and quit acting like a prick 99.9% of the time and admit when you are wrong.

4.2MM deficit in baseball. But sure let’s keep throwing money into a sport that’s not even generating revenue
The baseball program has operated at a deficit of at least $1 million every year since 2011. Baseball does not directly receive money from media rights.
4.2M- and growing

Yes, Nebraska loses on the same similar scale for their volleyball program as we do in our baseball program- But here’s the massive difference- Nebraska doesn’t disproportionately fund it at the expense of their football. Volleyball gets a small slice of their pie- around 5%. Whereas our baseball gets a much higher percentage of NIL/resources relative to football. Their football revenue is over $100M, so they easily cover volleyball loss and funds everything else proportionally- Ours is about half that, so when we lose and overspend funds and NIL on a small passion sport, it hurts our football program way more. Nebraska gets it- Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee get it. We don’t. Football first- Then the rest eat. Not the other way around- that’s why we are below average all the way around.

What are they doing w/ all that football money, they are 51-64 over the last 10 seasons.......................

Baseball deficit up to $4.2M- up from $3.1M the year before- and continuing to rise. It’s now losing more than it did before- even with the crowds, the new coach, the NIL push ect- Such a deal. Keep polishing that turd. Football’s the only plunger you got.

When did I say that?
Your whole post below that you made above is all about how they spend correctly like you think we should. Here:
"Nebraska doesn’t disproportionately fund it at the expense of their football"

And here: "Nebraska gets it- Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee get it. We don’t. Football first- Then the rest eat. Not the other way around"

So tell us, why aren't they winning in football if they are "spending correctly" instead of on "small passion sports"?

I don’t think you understood my sarcasm.
Im saying our record isn’t because football is overfunded- Other words it’s because football has been under prioritized and under resourced relative to what it could/should get.

Our football record is what it is because we had a good head coach pass away at a very inopportune time and we've made one and what's looking like two bad hires at the head coach position since Leach's passing.

Only a stubborn idiot would make it something else.......................................................... hmmm..................

I posted the other day on how much I miss the downvote. I'd like to suggest an addendum if we ever do get it back. Seems like we need a new rule where when one poster has more than, say, 100 thumbs down in a single thread, said poster is limited as to the number of posts he can make until he pulls his average back up.

Just a random thought I had right now for absolutely no reason at all.

I took a scientific poll and asked if anyone gave a shít and the no’s won it going away.

By all means keep going though. I’m enjoying how worked up y'all are. Just I case you were wondering, I had the smoked wings tonight and they were great.

I know you’re pissed we are winning but the rest of us are having a blast.

Still lacking from this horse beating: how much money does it take to get bowl eligible? Let's start with that. And if we have enough for that, let's fix the non-monetary things keeping us from achieving that first before picking on the baseball team. That seems reasonable.

Just trying to get it to page 8 for you.

Confused Jim Carrey GIF
Let me help get to page 8 too. Alright let’s break down some more exact savings if we reasonably and realistically implemented the capping/reductions that that I would suggest.
Our current total cost to department (operating + NIL):
Operating deficit: $4.2 million
NIL allocation: $3 million
👇🏻
Total: $7.2 million/year

Proposed realistic caps and reductions:

Cap baseball NIL at $1 to 1.5 mil.
That’s still mid range and competitive.
*Savings: $1.5 to 2 million

Reduce scholarships to 20 full rides- from 34.
*Savings: About 1 million.

Scale back ops, staff, travel, recruiting- 40-50% cut on non fixed
*Savings: About 2 million

*Total annual savings: $4.5 to 5 million

All of this $4.5 to 5M/year goes straight to football- portal targets, coordinators, facilities, staff- the stuff that actually turns 5-7 into 8–4/9–3 consistency.

Stadium debt and maintenance stays fixed at $1.2-1.5/per year- no savings there- but everything else is variable and savable.

That’s not chump change- That’s real money that could make football competitive without killing off baseball- making it sustainable more reasonable and still competitive. Football becomes consistent 8–4/9–3 contender- Revenue grows from tickets, donations, NIL pool ect. Then all sports (including baseball) benefit from a bigger pie long term. Virginia did this to stay sustainable. We could do the same- and should.

On to page 8!

Reduce the scholarships??? You've got to be kidding.

40-50% reduction is those other areas??? Is some possible? Yes. But there's nowhere close to $2 million of fluff in these items to cut. You want to have the team stay hostels? Maybe not schedule any games where they have to fly. Want to have them travel in a short bus? Those have to get better MPG you know..

If you put 60 thousand seats at The Dude, they would be filled.

No one actually loves football. They just love winning.

Many people actually love baseball.
I love football. I study football. I coach football.

I don't love baseball. I can't watch a whole game.

I get people "love" baseball, but its because they played T-ball and sort of understand the strategy of it.
