No sunshine pumping involved. It's cold eyed reason. We ARE a lot better than we were last year. Anyone that won't acknowledge that does not have MSU's best interests at heart.
“Poor ole MSU” mentality is accepting the results we’re seeing on the field and being like “welp, we’re losing by less than we lost last year and we should celebrate that.”

I’m done with losing close and thinking “well, at least it’s better than getting sodomized by Toledo”.

Anybody that thinks choking away another conference win is acceptable doesn’t have MSU’s best interest at heart.

Good enough to win most every sec game now dumb enough lose most every game.
Talent is there now. No excuses for that. not getting blow out.
dumbassery. Plenty to go around from our players poor situation awareness for penalties late in the game that reeks of lack of discipline.
Shapen has had a game winning throw and some that should have been game winning but defense screwed him over like tonight. he's also had some really bad game one the line plays too when we needed the comback. But couches should have not let them get into that situation

How much should we be considering the fact everyone calling for his head was calling for Hutzler’s he’d last year? I mean, there is so much crow to eat there.
Yes some of that was a talent issue but we improved talent that's why we are in games. We also added veteran analyst. The in game decisions can't be fixed if they keep happening.

We have to hope for that because we can’t be searching for a coach again. We literally might kill the program for real.
In modern college football with the roster turnover being in 30 plus each year explain that to me? You can change your whole roster in a year. Three years is not needed anymore to change out a team. And culture is year to year. Each year you have to reinstall culture with a new team. I suspect that's part of our problem. We have the talent upgrade but Lebby has to figure out discipline for himself and his players. Lack of discipline is why you lose these like this. Dumb penalties. Discipline to know your situation.

Actually every single thing you just posted is exactly what we have always done. It is THE reason we are where we are, and why we keep finding ourselves in this spot repeatedly. Rimse and repeat. It's the same old embarrassing crap.

We’re giving up 35 points per game in SEC play. We got pressure against the biggest laughing stock of a QB in all of college football because he holds the ball too long. And he still picked us apart. Had a career day against us after sucking nine kinds of asś all season…..because of course he did. Nobody would have thought before the season that you could apply the RAT theory to Arch Manning….but you can, and he certainly was the RAT tonight.

We can be better on D, yet still be really, really bad. And we are. Even below average defenses don’t get rung up for 5 TD’s per game in conference play.
Tenn had two defensive TDs and then the two OT TDs, and punt return tonight. Not great but not fair to say our defense is giving up 5 TDs per game

I’m not sure if you’re serious….

We’ve lost 16 straight SEC games, and 19 of our last 20.

We are 3-20 against the P4 since Leach passed, with a 24-point loss at home to a G5 school to boot.

No program is ever permanently dead, but ours is as dead as it 17ing gets already. The definition of insanity would be doing anything the same next year as we’ve done for the past 2 years….if November goes on to follow the script of the other 23 months for Lebby as our coach.

What about the fact that we were 2-10 last year?

Is losing like this not a marked improvement over 2024?
For me, it's not about losses. It's about competency. The players are playing their arses off, most of them. And they deserve credit for that. This coaching staff is incompetent and letting them down. That's the issue. And at some point the players are going to stop buying into what this coaching staff is telling them and it's going to get ugly. We may already be there.

lebby has to go. Tonight. Post haste.

Again, it would be impossible to not be markedly improved from last year. It was the worst MSU team in my lifetime. Zero points awarded for marginal improvement when we had zero coaching turnover in the offseason.

What about Lemonis being so much better in 2024 and 2025 than he was in 2022 and 2023? How’d we handle that situation?
Damn good comparison! Lemonis won a NC and it took us 3 years of misery to fire his lazy ***. W can damn sure fire Lebby for going 1-17 against P4 and 0-16 in the SEC.

Point taken, but you can’t completely ignore defensive TD’s because they take the ball out of their offense’s hands for a longer period of time, giving them fewer opportunities to score in regulation. Can’t just say “well, if not for those defensive TD’s, they wouldn’t have scored on offense”. You also can’t discount OT TD’s at all. There’s certainly a square on the bingo card to NOT give up a TD in overtime, especially on the first play.

All that said, I did think we played well enough to win defensively against Tennessee. But that feels like half a lifetime ago. We haven’t played well at all on that side of the ball since then. And if you take away the 3 TD’s on defense and special teams, we’re still giving up 30 per game in SEC play. Not nearly good enough….especially considering how bad UF and Texas have been offensively.

He's Chad Morris 2.0. Good (not great) OC and absolutely terrible HC. Recruits must sense it when they talk to him. It's why we're sitting 50th in recruiting. When he kept trotting Pulliam out there after punting line drive after line drive, and then punted to their playmaker with 1:47 left in the game, that told you all you needed to know about his ability to make sound football decisions. Pulliam out kicked his coverage all game. All he has to do is punt it out of bounds and make them drive the length of the field in 1:47. Shocked that question didn't come up post game.
