For those able to watch the Tim Brando show, he is giving the BCS hell today

not necessarily for the Nat'l Title game matchup, but the other BCS bowl game matchups. Boomer Esiason joins him by phone and gives the most concise, clear, rational explanation of why it makes no sense to rematch Bama & LSU in the title game.He makes the point much better than I ever could. If you get a chance, check it out.

the AP will award the 'ship to LSU and we'll have a split championship. This is what the BCS is setting themselves up for by matching 2 teams from the same conference that have played each other already. Most of the nation outside of the Southeast did not want to see the rematch. As Boomer said, we already know who the winner of the SEC title is, why are we being denied the chance to see the winner of the national title? My point exactly. The bottom line is that ESPN has been pushing for this rematch since Nov. 6th. They have major man-love for Nick Saban as shown by his appearance on their Gameday set prior to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta. They love the storyline about how Saban won a title at LSU and now he's won a title at Bama. They couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to hype the **** out of this game now that Saban is battling his old team with a national title on the line. Oh and theESPN contract with the SECadds more fuel to their constant pushing for this rematch. I'm just saying that most of the nation (outside of the Southeast) is unhappy about the rematch. They see that a team from another conference won'teven get the opportunity to play for the title. In their eyes, that's 17ed up.

anyone could pimp a team for the NC that got beaten by ISU.

If the cowboys take care of business then whatespn and the people in the SE think is irrelevant. Eff Gundy....he's a 17 idiot. Don't lay an egg against the 17ingcyclones thenget all jacked up for the sooners. Hell, there's plenty of people in the south that don't want to see LSU & Bama....we're just tired of being right about other ****** schools all the time.

Unless he's talked to all of the AP voters he doesn't have a clue who the AP would vote as champion if Bama were to win a close game.

The BCS is the only National Champion. The AP is just a nice trophy.

And you insist that most people didn't want this, but the problem there is that the computers favored OSU. So the <span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">HUMAN</span> polls are the ones that put Alabama into the Championship. So obviously there are quite a few people, one might say a majority, who feel that LSU and Alabama are the two best teams in the nation. Now if you ask me what would I rather watch as TV entertainment, I would agree that the OSU vs. LSU would make for better TV. But this is about the two best teams in the nation playing. And that is exactly what is happening.

And as I said, all your arguments don't mean a damn thing. LSU and Alabama will be kicking the ball off in the Superdome for the BCS National Championship. What you or some guy on ESPN says doesn't mean %*#$@!% all.

and are PAC-12 champions with 1 loss (LSU). Would they not be #2 in the BCS as champions of their conference, beating out a 1 loss Alabama team? Is this rematch really any better than the matchup we have now? I'm looking forward to the Bama/LSU rematch. Without a playoff, getting to the game and winning is all that matters. Who cares if the head to head ends up at 1-1 if Bama wins. They won the game that counted most. LSU's season has been impressive, but if they lose a close one and still get a share of the title, well that's ridiculous.

the AP has been awarding NCs longer than most of us have been alive and most people have more respect for the AP than they do the BCS... at least the AP decided not to be part of that foolishness.

I have heard many talking heads today, many who have votes, say something along those lines as you state here. Then how come all those people that had a vote didn't bump OSU or Stanford up to number 2 and move Bama down?

I myself think it is a little unfair to LSU to have to beat Bama again, but where is the data to support this idea that "MOST" people are against the rematch.

There is no national championship. There is just a game played between two teams that people and computers decide to place together with a trophy attached to it.

I refuse to recognize any championship until we get past the point of a playoff that only includes 2 teams.

i run outside sec circles and i can tell you that the only people arguing that bama should have a rematch were bama fans and everyone else said it should be oklahoma st. <div>
</div><div>as for voters, it's not the first time the voters blew a vote. also, george wine voted houston 5th in the harris poll. and oklahoma st 6th. apparently the big 12 champ is worse than the c-usa runner up in his eyes. </div><div>
</div><div>just because a bunch of coaches/SIDs voted for bama #2 and the harris poll voted bama #2 doesn't mean that the CFB fans wanted to see a rematch.

I think most voters take the mandate is to vote for the "best" team. Alabama, consensus wise, is the second best team. So "most" people do not think OSU is the second best team.

Many people, and I include myself, would rather see OSU get a chance at LSU instead of the rematch.

When someone says "most" people believe OSU should play LSU, I take it just like a liberal politician saying "most" americans think we should tax the rich or a conservative politician saying "most" americans think we are all taxed too much. No real data, it just sounds good.

I've seen a lot of people running around with the AP trophy lately. You always see it on the sideline during big games. It's talked about constantly during the season. It's definitely on par with the BCS champion! /sarcasm

And now i gotta hear their **** for another month at least. I don't care if they deserved it or not (which is debatable), but I wanted to see OSU vs. LSU as well.
