He needs some serious proofreading. Re-read before hitting "tweet". Dang.

The Lord works in mysterious ways*

He must not have single member of his flock on twitter or they must all be as dumb as he is.

And this is one of the replies to one of his tweets.

I pointed out the exact same thing to my husband! I wonder what good is happening for this to take place all at once. Satan's MAD.

This guy isn't a preacher. He is a paid public speaker than can't do anything else but make people believe what he is saying. He just so happens to speak once a week about the bible. He has no skills other than getting up in front of a crowd and selling something his heart evidently isn't in 100%. But he get's paid for it and doesn't have to sweat. That is what is important in Oxford, MS.

It takes a real pitiful person to preach in front on a congregation and then go home and tweet or retweet derogatory stuff about players on another team.

Now he tries to justify all of this going on as some kind of trial that God is putting them through and UM is some holy beacon of Christianity. The fact that someone agrees with him makes me weep for the stupidity in this country.

There are some days I am really glad I'm Catholic, although I'm sure some of the priest probably talk a little smack about the other football in the motherland.

If I ever saw a Catholic priest do that, I'd fire off an email to the diocese quicker than you say "Ave Maria."

I hear copperheads are less prone to bite...

...but rattlesnakes will fill the offering plates quicker.

It's a shame that God is so busy with real life that he had to put OM aside for a little while and leave them open for a Satan attack.

Whiny little bitches.

In all seriousness, are there no MSU fans at Canton FBC? Or, have they all just quit and gone elsewhere? I have had preachers in the past be MSU and Ole Miss. At most, they would say a little tongue in cheek joke the Sunday after the Egg Bowl... Never anything more than that... Because they knew that there were some member of the congregation that didn't agree with their point of view.

In the religion/rivalry theme:

There is a Deacon at my Catholic Church that was formerly in the Famous Maroon Band. After the conclusion of the Sunday Masses following this years Egg Bowl, he played a heartwarming interpretation of our beloved fight song on the church organ.

I hope this becomes an annual tradition in our parish.
