Thanks for sharing that. I remember being at the training rig in Shreveport for the week before and week after that game. Stayed in a ****** *** hotel right beside the Shreveport airport.

Didn't remember, however, how much of a cluster17 those last 10 seconds were.

I hear you...but if you just go to the address bar and remove the 'm.' from in front of the web address and hit enter it will take you to the regular youtube.

Edited to add: Now you can just click on 'desktop' in the middle of the page near the top and it will switch to the regular youtube site.

Can you people link videos NOT to the mobile site?

Sorry I post from my iPad. Are you saying when I post the link to go back and erase the "m." and it will be viewable for all? I'll gladly fix the links for everyone I just need to know how.

Watching the end of that game reminds me how much I hate Stansbury.

In the later years, the Stansbury stall became a staple of the end of the game. Bombing threes and last second, shot clock drives. Oh yea, don't forget that we failed to block out on a late game free throw rebound. We lost two games to Kentucky a couple of years ago because of that. Oh, and **** up a late game in bounds past. Yep, that is standard Stans.

Of all the dumb things Stansbury did, I'm not going to fault him for this one. I have on good authority that Phil was the biggest cancer in the locker room. While it may be hippocritical to cut him and not others, I'm not going to fault him for actually letting him go. Same with Elgin Bailey. Everyone got upset that he was let go and Sidney stayed, but many here don't know how much of a problem Bailey actually was.

Yep. How many different ways did we try to lose that one? In retrospect, that was really the last highlight of the Stansbury era. The next three years produced two NIT bids, and a decade's worth of suspensions and embarrassments.

I didn't realize until I just watched that video again how much I liked Barry Stewart. Even with his faults, I'd take another one of him right now. Perhaps Ray wouldn't run the shot clock down and ask him to go 1 on 1.

It would probably work for you to remove it whenever you post the link as well. Just try it the next time and see - can't see why it wouldn't work.

It's amazing that we put Phil Turner on Chism and it was successful. What an awful mis-match, but Phil made the most of it.

And yes... I wish we could put Barry Stewart on permanent scholarship. He was the glue that held that team together.

I always thought Turner was an odd dude, but a hell of a competitor. No idea if he was a locker room issue or not, but I could see that since his scowls on the court were epic. If he was an issue in the locker room, he obviously wasn't the only issue.

As for Bailey, I don't disagree with what you say since I am 900mi from the program and couldn't be more on the outside, but it just strikes me as incredibly odd that such a cancer would be chosen as a team captain.
If Bailey was as bad as people have said, then why would he be a team captain?
and where were all the generic and vague references to Bailey's cancer causing personality BEFORE he was tossed off? Before he left, everyone would post about his effort and how hard a worker he was. Well that, and how limited in talent he was.

Also, why get rid of those two and keep all the others? We had plenty of cancers that didn't play nearly as hard as those two did.
