Arkansas is probably the 3rd best job in the SEC and they have tried to hire mid-major successes and as of right now it isn't looking good for them. I thought Pelphrey was a bad hire from the beginning. He still will get another year to prove himself and will probably do good enough to keep his job next year. I will give our job the 9th most desirable job in the SEC due to the success Williams had and the consistent success that Stansbury has had. That is being generous though considering our overall lack of tradition and rank in the SEC in terms of budget. Basketball hires are hard to make in the SEC. Many coaches seem to struggle in this league to have consistent success. Donovan caught lightning in a bottle for a couple of years, but he has struggled some before and after those two years. I believe this year we have a great shot to break through and we will get better as all Stansbury teams do as the season progresses. Also, Stansbury has gotten pretty good players to play at MSU, but he has been unable to get the one NBA stud that most teams need to make noise in the NCAA tournament. If we don't make the NCAA tournament this year, then the class of 2011 will be the class that likely gets us there. You know it's funny when I hear people say that LSU or Alabama or whoever has a better coach. Well, they should have a better coach because the other SEC schools for the most part have the resources to pull in better coaches. The fact is that most of these schools over the past 12 years haven't had better coaches, unless you totally discount Stansbury's records against these coaches head to head. My Rank of Basketball Programs in the SEC based on support, facilities and overall budget: 1. Kentucky 2. Florida 3. Arkansas 4. Tennessee 5. South Carolina 6. Auburn (building a new $92 million facility) 7. LSU 8. Alabama 9. MSU 10. Vanderbilt 11. Georgia 12. Ole Miss
