For us to move forward, Dan is going to have to do things he doesn't want to.

1) He's going to have to become unloyal to the people that got him where he is now. No question we are better off now than when he got here. But the coaches on this team that have been here since the beginning have proven time and time again that they don't have what it takes to win games. Hevesy is a joke. His OL got absolutely torched tonight. Worst performance by them this year and it wasn't even close. Obviously some is Tyler's fault, but it looked like he got hit on every pass attempt. RBs were getting hammered in the backfield by their own OL getting pushed into them. Hevesy needs to go. Wilson needs to go too. Our defense is a joke. Our defense has 4 draftable seniors with another 4 or 5 starters that are of NFL caliber. There is no reason our defense should have been this bad. He sucks, our DL was possibly the worst unit on the field this year, and we didn't get better as the season went on. No excuse.

2) Dan is going to have to fire himself as special teams coach and hire someone to do it full time. We did well on returns tonight, but that doesn't matter. He needs to be the head coach of the team and that needs to be his only job. He needs to devote every second of his time to building this team, not working with punt and kickoff teams. Be a head coach 95% of the time and only intervene when things aren't being run like you want them.

3) He's going to have to become a ruthless, arrogant *** to everyone. This team has been living off of this we believe underdog mentality and it hasn't worked. It's time to start pissing people off, get in peoples faces, and change the atmosphere to a hard nosed nasty football team. We have lost that and it was evident tonight. We looked every bit as finesse tonight as Ole Miss fans said we were. That has to change in every aspect and it starts with the head coach. Time to make every day a living hell for these guys if we want to be better than an 8-4 football team.

Tonight is disappointing and I don't like the direction we went in combined with the direction Ole Miss is going in. We are an average football team that beat a bunch of average and below average football teams. If we don't change our approach on the field and in recruiting, we will never be better than a 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 football team. That is all.

He especially needs to do #3 to #1. I want to see him demand the absolute best of his assistants and players. If an assistant cannot perform to his expected level, he needs to be let go. This goes for your top level coordinators down to your equipment manager and grad assistants.

You said it all. All I will add is its time to drop some of the marginal recruiting talent.

I think what we are seeing is like a junior varsity version of Flarda the last 2 years under Meyer. Soft as hell when the going got tough.

#3 reminds me of one of my biggest complaints in the Bama game. Saban lost his **** on #24 when we scored in garbage time. He expects the best at all times no matter the score or situation. Dan instead seems to stop coaching and start enjoying the win on the sideline. Essentially we don't take every chance we have to get better. This is a horrible recipe when you have a very easy front loaded schedule. You get complacent and soft.

Was not managed well by our coaching staff in my opinion. We did not focus enough on getting better and execution and playing hard all the time as you are referencing- which is what we should have been doing.

That's why I think it's ******** to save things. Work on precision and trying to play that "perfect game".

This is why I was pretty negative towards the idea that we were "building depth" in those games. Our starters clearly needed the reps.

What you 17'ers don't won't to admit is that you had a soft schedule and you have inferior talent on your team. Boom. It's over.

someone else does that, and he has done well at Bama.

We need to reevaluate how we use our personnel too. Why can't we switch Perkins and Griffen, or Dak and Tyler in a drive? We don't keep teams off balance with our personnel, it's bland.
