Why not in America? There may be two reasons for this:

1. China places a 25% import fee on vehicles like Fords
2. Ford must partner with a Chinese firm

I don't mind free trade, in fact I like it. But this is not free trade.

Does anyone think that Ford will lose some intellectual property?

No. Intellectual property? Like what? It is a combustible engine or it is a hybrid or a battery operated car. We aren't talking losing national security issues.

When this type of thing was happening under Obama's watch, nuts like you were all over it bitching about losing jobs. That isn't what is necessarily happening. Companies with a world presence need to operate in the world including building their products where they are in the market. If these cars are not being imported into North America, this is probably a great move by the company and will be beneficial to the shareholders. That is business. It was during Obama's years and it is now. But details need to be known on why they are building this plant and if my assumption is true on importing into N. America is not going to happen.

You completely missed the point I was trying to make. The Chinese are imposing a 25% tariff on imported cars. That is not free trade. The Chinese are also requiring that Ford engage with the Chinese partner. Y'all know the Chinese are famous for stealing intellectual property.

Any trade deals we enter into must be fair. I am in favor of free trade but it must also be fair trade. We cannot let China get away with these kinds of practices.

I don't know how the trade deal is set up with specifics with China. If this is allowed under the deal then it is in place, get your hero to "negotiate a better deal". Isn't that why you nuts voted for him? Good luck.

If Obama negotiate this deal, and I do not know if that is the case, then Trump can't possibly do any worse.
