So you don’t think he’s the next Cookie Gilchrist, who went from high school (as a high school junior) straight to pro football?

He might have to take the same route Cookie did, first the CFL then the NFL (AFL at the time)

Who was that DT with all the talent in the world but also Nike LaLoosh syndrome who went from Miami to Rutgers to Akron to an UDFA in Giants camp where he cut by Coughlin 3 days in and before any preseason games? I see something similar

AA went from THREE high schools and then FIVE different colleges (did he even make it to LSU?) before the thought of pro football. Big difference between him and Cookie.

United Football League, at best
He’ll end up on a practice squad. Talent is elite, even if the character isn’t.

Now I remember, Nate Robinson. After attempts at the NFL he got signed by the NY Sentinals and Toronto Argonauts where was a preseason cut in both places.

He’s spent more time in court than he ever did on the field.

Something tells me he didn’t qualify. 4.5 years of college with minimal credits and advancement towards a degree.

“Christ. Seven years of college down the drain. Might as well join the f*cking Peace Corps.”

That is why it’s better them than us. He’s a talented hot dogger. For those who said or thought we should have offered this guy again we are much better off without this nut case.

Remember Alonzo Spellman? He was the former Rancocas Valley DE who played for the Bears and Dallas and had serious bi polar issues? Had a great career at Ohio St. and played almost a decade in the NFL

He had a lot of struggles post football with those issues. He’s still around south jersey as far as I know.

Has Alfano played in an actual Div-1 football game?
I don't think so; in college I think his only live regular season game action was at Lackawanna...wonder what all of the 'we HAVE to offer him' posters think of this...

If you get a chance, read "Say Good-bye to Big Daddy", a poem by Randall Jarrell, which appeared in The Atlantic Monthly in 1967.

Efe Obada plays for the Washington Commanders and never attended College.
He played for a football league in England , got noticed and made the Cowboy practice squad in 2015 was let go signed on with a few other teams until after a few years of sign and release he signed a reserve/future contract with the Panthers in 2018, made the team and went to the Bills after being let go,Buffalo signed him to a 1 year contract in 2021 after that was up he jumped to Washington in 2022 and still on the roster
I don't think Alfano could handle being released and trying to stick it out like Obada did

90-95% of this board is OT, which is totally ridiculous considering there's literally a separate board for this non-RU football stuff. So I guess this thread fits right in with the current regime's vision.
OT is one of the best things about this board. Not sure why anyone knocks it.
As for this thread- it is closer to being a Rutgers football thread than 95% of other OT…

I wasn’t saying I’m anti OT

There have been many threads on this player , the OP was lazy in creating yet another thread for him
