See what they have to say about it. If it's positive reaction, we may have something to worry about. If not, let's just forget you ever mentioned this.

Haven't you ever been at an away game and wished you could yell out something really gay to your fellow MSU fans? I have felt lost for so many years because I just have to remain silent when passing other bulldog fans, and all because we don't have something like Roll Tide or Hotty Toddy. Vroom Maroon opens so many doors for us on a national level!!! Now maybe people will realize that we are not the same school as Ole Miss, and that we are actually our own Vroom Maroon nation.

Now on a serious note: If anyone gives me a Vroom Maroon, I will politely tell you to go F yourself and let you in on the secret that no one over the age of 12 should wear a jersey to a game. This is seriously the WORST possible thing that our athletic department could push. Do they all of a sudden have a bunch of 12 years olds and the cast from ***** eye for the straight guy running the athletic department?

VROOM MAROON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember that post the other day quoting Byrne as saying the fan base was "fragmented"? Well, maybe this is a ploy to put something out there so terrible and embarrassing that virtually all MSU fans would come together to beat it down should there be any real intentions at using this stupid phrase? Maybe this is his way of uniting the segments?

Probably not, but it's a nice spin at least.

Almost 50 years ago [time flies whether you are having fun or not], the team name had fairly recently shifted from "Maroons" to "Bulldogs."

I don't see the retro thangie as being positive.

Not that I have an input.

Can we not ditch the cutsie pimping image stuff, and just win games?

vroom maroon?.....that is f'ing terrible!!!!!

how about just 'true maroon' as a 'hail state' or 'roll tide'......seems simple, different, and likable.....but vroom maroon?

that is ALMOST as terrible as the 'wooooo damn right'.....emphasizing the wooo......

i refuse, to ever say 'wooooo' in that cheer.....that is so f'ing terrible ......vroom marooon will further separate the sheep from the fans who dont accept mediocrity IMO

I used to have to work with them and you have to reign them in and give them focus.they are almost always initially over the top or out in left field and companies who give them carte blanche wind up spending twice the money trying un17 what they have done. DON'T LET THEM DO IT BYRNE!!!
Go State! is our trademark.

Are we letting 17ing 8 year olds come up with potential slogans now? Worst. Idea. EVAR. In fairness, Wardlaw says the AD is less than thrilled with "Vroom Maroon." There may be hope this doesn't go anywhere.

I am pretty sure that we could get real creative with the t-shirts if we used Maroon Sausage Balloon.

I can picture it now. Cluster bombing a crowd with cocktail weenies drenched in a deep maroon BBQ sauce.

ad agencies are filled w/over the top colorfully dressed males AND young unsocialized, angry and under-payed females with an art degree. I have worked with countless ad agencies for many years. The Creative Department is not a place that you want to go for a conversation. Lot of hate there. Especially for ANYTHING athletic.

Varoom Maroon....just sucks. I would bet you my house, that this "agency" is outta the SEC area. That sounds so Northeast...ie-NewYork. Possibly Los Angeles. Maybe a referral from somebody that Dad knows? (Byrne's dad on the West Coast?)

Tear that idea off the proposal board. Kick the *** of the creative who proposed it. Bring the account executives in for a real face to face ..... and tell them that there are 10..20 ideas that are here on campus already. Work with them. Enlarge them ... make a localized idea come into a concept.

Hell...I would do it for a fraction of what they are paying this agency for this 17-upped pitch.

wow. that just wears me out.

Instead of Vroom Maroon lets let Raw dawg be our "Roll Tide" saying. It would be much more heart warming telling the competition you got "Raw dogged" rather than you got Vroomed.
