I've never understood why it is actually the cool thing to do to live in a trailer while a student at Auburn.

It wasn't. It's an economic decision for many and the chosen option for others. Also, 5-10 years ago there weren't as many apartments as there are now so people had few other options. Currently even with a growing student body and a growing city, there are empty apartments and condos all over Auburn because they vastly overbuilt. A lot of the older places are not filled and many of the newer ones what had planned to sell their units have empty ones or have started renting. Several of the trailer parks have been plowed under and had new developments constructed on the site.

I heard that the old University Commons has zero rooms left in it. I know they are under new management now.. but didn't that place used to be a nearly last resort in recent years? Twenty One is covered up too.

one of the best places to live in the early 90s. I didn't realize it went down hill. Of course I have not been back to those apartments since then. Where is the "in" place to live now? Its amazing how many more options there are now.

I live in a trailer at Starkville and it's a hell of alot better than the apartments/house I've been in here. And cheaper too :)

individual wanted / needed to be. When the commons opened, college station went downhill, & there used to be great tail @ college station, but good lord when the commons opened & summer came, the tail that was around that pool everyday was off the charts, fine. That was a great summer.

Bikinis & beer, there is simply no better combination

I had started seeing / dating this girl @ the end of the summer & I always showed up w/ Coors Lite, & that was hitting the pocket book pretty hard. School rolled around, & we went to a football game, & after the game we went to get some beer, & I just didn't have enough money for the Coors Lite, so I got a case of Natural Light in the bottles, & she up & says oh, natty lite, that's my favorite, I stood there for a second thinking of all the money I spent on Coors, & then asked her if she would marry me. It didn't work out, but the beer was good, & cheap.

you can't beat living in the Cotton District. Bin 612, Up Your Alley, Rock Bottom, The Grill all within 100 yards of my house. Also the Savvy Grape liquor store and coconut's are right there. I walk to class, football and basketball games. Then you get to have Bulldog Bash and the Cotton District Arts Festival your front yard. Dammit I don't wanna graduate.

Cotton District is definitely the place to live. You can walk to downtown, campus, the Bin, and etc. The Highlands is probably the next best place due to its cheap rent and the new sports bar out there.</p>
