Sunday on the premium board

someone started a post saying "can we put the Flood sucks posts to rest for a week?"
I responded with "Dear rest of the message board, please shut up"
Spanky responded with "At least someone got the message".
I responded with "Anyone notice how you can't put a moderator on ignore?"
RonJeremy posted something about Spanky.

I woke up, the entire thread was scrubbed and RJ was banned.

Spanky, would you like to give your version of the story?
Well skippy, I remember my response, but I wasn't the one who deleted it. Unfortunately it was permanently deleted, so I can't even view it - I just searched through the last few pages of the RT. Oh, and I never saw your response, but feel free to ignore me to your heart's content. HEXT!

I'm not on premium, so didn't see the thread in question. And I'm not a fan of banning people for anything (much more fun to just mess with people's heads instead). And I'm frankly amazed that people ever actually contact the mods about anything other than system problems - I've never contacted the mods or John about anything related to other forum members and I never will.

But it seems to me that giving a forum moderator crap is a lot like giving a cop a hard time. Fine, in principle, but it rarely works out well for the crap-giver. No offense, if your reading this, Ron Jeremy. I like you just fine even if you have been a bit too McCarthyist for my tastes lately.

You are not missing anything on premium. Not that I can attest to what is on premium, but I am not missing anything, so you must feel the way I do because that is the way this forum works.
Folks should be banned for continually attacking and singling out other posters.

I just attack them back harder. As long as no credible personal threats occur, it's all good.

If a credible personal threat occurs, I can take care of it myself w/out involving the mods. I can't recall ever seeing a credible personal threat towards anybody on these boards. Even the CE board is very tame, compared to what's out there.

What happened was, he was not actually Ron Jeremy. It turned out that he was Kyle Flood and he was using reverse psychology to turn everyone into a Floodie. When everyone found out they banned him immediately.

The only person RJ ever attacked was Kyle Flood. Since Spanky says he had nothing to do with it, maybe Coach made the call to either get rid of RJ or give up all the access to the program.

Agreed in general, and although I have no issue with Spanky in general, using the 'cop' metaphor, lately Spanky is like the sheriff in First Blood.

Who even would use a Ron Jeremy picture for their icon. That is weird.

Maybe it was a reminder what he looked like before he lost 200 pounds so he'd never let it happen again? Like him or not you've got to give him credit for that.

Or maybe he's a moderator on here...........you didn't hear that from me!

Whatever possessed God in heaven to make a man like Ron Jeremy?

This could've been such a sweet deal for us. (Oops, wrong movie!)

Am I only the person who notices that Flood critics are banned frequently, but critics of Schiano, CVS and the legion of MBB coaches we have never are?

One day the full story is going to be out on Flood, and a lot of people are going to be unhappy.

Just curious as to why people get so upset when someone else is banned. It's not like they can't just whip up another screen name and hop rigth back in. Is the Book of Work on this board that they put together under a certain screen name that important to you?

We are all members of the same community that have common interests in all things RU.
Well said Sir. I moved to North Carolina over twenty years ago. This board allows me to come home every day (yes I check this place out everyday), and get my Jersey fix.

This is an amazing place if you think about it. Just like when I was a kid walking to school, you would have guys you traded barbs with, and friends that backed you up. But you would all come together when the weather got rough. Same here.

NUTS, Der, Scourge, G.O.R., BAC, Source, Banker, Moz, Mr. TV, Zappa... the list goes on (sorry if I left you out). If you've been on this board for a while you know the names, you know (most of the time) where they stand. I've tried to walk away a few times, but always come back. I guess it's a Jersey thing.

Enjoy the company. Enjoy the holidays.

The biggest problem I have with the whole thing is that so many of DJ spanky's post's are thinly veiled attempts to be antagonistic ... he really seems to be delighting in it and the proof is in nearly every post he made in this thread. Never saw a mod on any board, anywhere or at any time act like he is acting. To be honest, I was really shocked when I saw he had become a moderator. The only time he posts is in this manner and he never adds insight into a conversation ... just don't care if he got RJ banned as he seems to have no control over what he says and he got what he got, but DJ should not be a moderator equally as much.

Somewhere our man Ron is loving all of the attention he is getting in this thread. He may not be able to post for a few days but he can still read each thread and see his screen name in the limelight.

Again, I hope he's back for the Maryland game. No doubt that Ron has the inside scoop on what will happen with our coaching staff after the game and he is sure to let us know that before it happens. Ron has sources, you know.

just to clear up a minor point for those of us who don't know and socialize with other board members, can I assume Ron Jeremy = Ru4Real?

Ru4Real is in good standing. He's been quite busy off the boards. He posted a few times early in the week.

But what are we going to do without his very close relationship with the players?

The funny thing is, for you guys that miss him, a good number of posters could just take turns posting exactly as if we are him. We just need about 5 canned responses to rotate through. And make sure we make it clear we are the most inside person on the board.

People who still back Flood...such as a certain moderator who is sounding very snarky and condescending toward innocent, premium paying members lately...are letting their personal relationships with the man interfere with the objective perception of the coach and the job he's actually doing.

Laughing that the only thing I read was "DJ Snarky" hehehehe

Why do so many still think you are having a make believe fight with Flood supporters? And quite honestly, if there are some, have you figure out you guys are attacking them and not the other way around.

Yes, I'm not picking a fight with anyone. I was simply commenting on comments I feel are inappropriate coming from a moderator after reading this thread. And the other poster who called this moderator out too had his post deleted when I feel he was 100% right. And I didn't call anyone out by name or "DJ snarky" so i don't know where that came from.

Any post that is not complaining about or piling on Flood is backing Flood--don't you get that?

I posted a thread about whether Flood could redeem himself (even though I would like to see him gone) since it seems he may be here to stay, and of course the usual suspects chimed in calling me a a Flood defender, blah, blah, blah.

You are 100% correct- no you didn't... some of you really have no sense of humor at all. Pretty damn obvious that you were talking about DJ Sparky...but hey, maybe it was John O in the thread being "snarky" and I saw the perfect opportunity to make the obvious joke and I thought it was funny. Lighten up Francis...

Hopefully Ron comes back soon. He seemed to have a good pulse about what was actually happening inside our program. Not the front that Flood has been putting forward.

LOL i got you. No, it is funny. But my intent wasn't to insult or call this person names. Just simply pointing out that I feel that a few of his posts have been inappropriate for a moderator. That is all:) Have a great Thanksgiving yesrutgers01!

I'm really getting tired of this "DJ Spunky" - he's rubbing his pro-Floodie views in everybody's face to the point where he may need a timeout.

Happy Thanksgiving guys!
