Freeze can't evaluate talent

Why does he target so many out of state kids? Easy, he relies on the recruiting sites to do the leg work for him, and then recruits who those sites say are good. If his boosters fail him on those kids, Freeze then tries to recruit players MSU has offered. Freeze knows Mullen is much better at evaluating talent and life in general, probably due to Mullen being morally and spiritually superior.

You are so correct. Ole Miss is educationally, intellectually, morally, and spiritually inferior to The Mississippi State in every possible way. I almost wish Ole Miss would upset The Mississippi State University in basketball this weekend, mainly because it might improve their inferiority complex and, quite possibly, improve the service at McDonalds.

Tell me about it. I was PISSED last year when he signed Evan Engram (kid had no offers except for Ole Miss) and Mike Hilton the year before (another scrub that nobody wanted). Can't believe they both started and played so much for Ole Miss. And, don't get me started on the MS kids like Derrick Jones. Did Hugh not notice that Scout had him as the 89th best WR in the nation?!? And then he goes and changes him to a CB this year?? What was the man thinking??

I'm especially pissed that he signed the Moore twins (barely any offers and LOWLY ranked), Alfred Dickens (88th ranked OLB on Scout? We at THE University of Ole Miss do NOT accept anything less than top 30 in the nation), and Tyler Putnam (again, yet ANOTHER player ranked outside the top 30 at his position. In fact, DOUBLED at 60th). I swear, Freezeus better quit going after these guys because it's getting ridiculous!

In case they are needed, here are the **************************** for some of you.

Now that I have quit laughing, time to clean the computer screen.

Like Rashawn Smith, Eugene Brazley, Herbert Moore, Bobby Hill, Trey Bledsoe, Quincy Adeboyejo, David Kamara, and the others already mentioned here?

only the biggest dumbasses of your fan base believes anything remotely resembling the original post. In fact, you have to get to our 12th commit of the 2014 class to find someone in the top 40 nationally per Scout.

Who are the people you just named? I've heard of Bobby Hill obviously. Love that show. David Kamara, seems like I have heard of him. Isn't he a coat tail rider?

Exactly my point. The original poster said Freeze lets the websites tell him who to offer, except those were all lowly rated 2013 signees, several of which played significant amounts in 2013 as freshmen.

Again, only a dumbass believes Freeze offers and signs based on recruiting rankings and "following Dan."

Settle down Red, plenty of evidence out there to

Support op opinion. Last year was the recruiting perfect storm for you guys and Nutt signing little numb nuts kemdiche set the whole thing up, I know y'all are still paying him off and will be for several years but that dumbass is largely responsible for what happened last year. Freeze is a hayseed, redneck preacher and it is already catching up with him*. Freeze got kicked out of the Baptist student union at USM, please enlighten us.

Dropping from consensus top 10 class last year to top 15 this year suggests a downward spiral of monumental proportions.

Put a qb on the field who can heave it 30 yards and then come talk to me about recruiting.

Not trying to ruffle your confederate flag, that's why I posted this on an MSU board. I'm not familiar with everyone on your team, but I just didn't know there was anyone on your team worth bragging about besides the highly rated guys the recruiting sites identified. Those guys you listed combined for 7 receptions and 2 tackles, wow. I'd put them right up there with Jonathan Banks and Chris Jones. Don't worry, Freeze will land enough stars to win recruiting trophies and stroke the morally weak egos in Oxford, but I don't see him identifying enough quality players to have the depth needed in the SEC.

If there is plenty of evidence to support he only offers kids by what the recruiting websites say, then by all means, present it. There has been plenty presented in this thread to contradict it.

And who gives a wet **** that he got kicked out of the BSU in college? Newsflash: people can change. Some for the better, some for worse. What does what happened to him in college have to do with him as a grown, married man with 3 children?

some of this **** on nafoom. This thread has nothing on their ****.

A few years ago, I read NAFOOM for all of a couple days before I came over here. That site is turrible. You guys (well, a lot of you anyways) are level-headed enough that there are some fun threads on here.

It doesn't work well for your argument that Freeze signed 5 of the Top 30 recruits according to 247. He had another committed who bolted when Freeze went after another Top 30 recruit - who plays the same position!!! Then he went after a Top 5 recruit - who plays the same position!!!! He signed the Top 2 recruits in the nation, one of whom.... plays the same position!!!!

So you are saying he shouldn't go after consensus top 30 caliber players? I don't follow the line of reasoning here. Freeze signing 4 - 5 star players means he can't evaluate?

All trolling aside

My point was Freeze chases highly rated players all across the country because, yes they are very likely going to be good, but also he is not very good at identifying the hidden talent in rural areas throughout our state and those close by, so he has no choice but to chase guys identified by Rivals and 247 as can't miss prospects. Talent evaluation is where Mullen excels. I know some of your players were redshirted and only time will tell if they will be elite, I just didn't see anything on your team that impressed me besides the players every school wanted.

Did you not read post #8??

Clearly if you had, you'd see where Freeze signed several players with little to no offers who've contributed immediately.

The real elephant in the room (that you won't talk about) is that you have to believe that DM is a better evaluator at talent because he can't attract elite talent to come visit your school. And if you start on Marlon Humphrey, you're dumber than C34. He's a Bama legacy, from Alabama, who will be coached by Saban. You have 0 chance.

For the record, I think State could attract elite talent if the right staff was in place. If Saban was yall's coach, I truly believe you'd have Alabama type classes. But DM is not and neither is his staff. In 5 years, DM has won 7 SEC West games: 4 against Ole Miss, 2 against Ark., and 1 against Auburn).

In 2 years, Freeze has won 5 games against the West. And Freeze inherited a way bigger dumpster fire than what Mullen got.

Here comes Mutt in 5...4...3...2...1...

come on man, you are reaching and you know it. By that measure Saban can't evaluate bc he only signs highly rated players. We had a few lowly 3 stars contribute as freshmen this year (Engram, D Jones). Years 4 and 5 are when you can really start evaluating a coaches recruiting ability. But, I find it amusing that Freeze can't evaluate bc he signed the #1 OT in the nation who was really good as a true freshman over a diamond in the rough Mississippi kid.

Not that it makes that much difference but it is 4 against UM. Making it 7 SEC west wins. And Arkansas was a little better the first three years of Mullens tenure than they have been the last two. Kinda hard to make comparisons unless you look at just the last two years in which ya got the upset over LSU. One game difference but a big win for you. The flip side is the one win you have had against the east. You played better competition but then again you still want to hold all the top losses we had against the west when they were all top teams at the time as well.

Uh, check your record. Dan has won four against ole miss in five years. In last 2 years, ole miss is .....

0-2 against bama
1-1 against auburn
0-2 against a&m
2-0 against Arkansas
1-1 against lsu
1-1 against msu

The only difference in the last 2 years in that record and Msu's is ole miss' upset against lsu in mettenbergers worst game of the year by far.
