Don't know if Dan was given the chance. Miles fired the tape off instead of man up to Mullen first

No, Slive would have still suspended Day for a full game, meaning Day wouldn't get to play again until the 3rd quarter against Auburn.

Na, I'd say it worked out fine for us. We got the win, Beckwith and Desper got great experience, and Day got an extra bye week before we face the toughest defense of the year.

Dan had plenty of time. The SEC suspension was handed out on Tuesday, and, according to a tweet from Stricklin, he and Mullen were on the phone with the SEC office all day Monday and Tuesday. I'm pretty sure the idea of a half game suspension was suggested more than once....

Day's Twitter "Explanation" came out pretty quickly. Mullen didn't really have a choice once that happened. Either support your player or try to save face with the SEC. In the long run, standing in Day's corner and supporting his story is probably more important than suspending him immediately.

Though if we had lost the A&M game as a result of poor OL play, I'd be saying something else.

sorry, caving to interwebs pressure based off of pictures on exchange-a-gram is NOT enough. he should have announced suspension yesterday. it isn't like he had zero access to film. it was being re-tweeted on the line within minutes of happening.
