I have relatives in the Houston area, and one of them just called me saying, "well, it looks like that one year run of Ole Miss over MSU may come to a quick halt...Tech is looking to hire Freeze". If I were Nkemdiche or any of their other big recruits, I would want to make sure Ya ya ya ya football (Ed Orgeron) wasn't going to be my coach before committing to Ole Miss.

ETA: Said it was all over their local sites and twitter.

I've got a secret and reliable source that says he will be paid double what he is making now and will be given free reign over the football program. What he will say goes. Plus the best dental plan of any D1 coach. He will announce after bowl game.

Is anyone tracking flights yet?

Those rich Texas folk are always flying into Oxford, this might be difficult to pin point one.

I heard Mullen was going to join him as his special teams coach, but that seems to have hit a snag b/c Mullen wanted to bring Balis with him. The Texans were not sure how the late-night homo-erotica workouts would play in West Texas and were balking on both Mullen and Balis.

The TT fans have been hearing about how great OM's tailgating is from the UT fans and they will up their price to get Freeze to leave the glory of Oxford and the Grove.

Actually, I think they're thinking about moving Texas Tech from Lubbock to Oxford so they can enjoy the grove every week.

I heard that Colorado wanted Freeze. It is pretty amazing that they have their top two candidates as a current high school football coach in Colorado and former girls high school volleyball coach in Mississippi.

You know, I've always kind of been opposed to that statement. Most successful since Vaught? Brewer had a pretty damn good run. For starters, 8-3 against y'all. went to five bowl games (two Independence, two Liberty when it meant something and a Gator when it mean't something). And he didn't have a 60,000 seat stadium and IPF to recruit to. Hell, our facilities were so bad, he hired Joe Lee Dunn in a motel room before even allowing him to look at them...

I deal only in facts. That's why I'm a cocky 17ing bastard.

It's happening man, accept it! Now, spread the word because you guys are going to need to get on a new hire quickly...most of the decent coaches have already been chosen from. Maybe you and USM can fight over a coach.

...funny. I am a FB coach just over the state line in Lovington,NM, and I had another coach ask me yesterday if I had heard about a coach named Freeze at Ole Miss. Said some ppl in LBK were talking about him. Seems like his name actually has been tossed around some in circles in Lubbock. so, either you just don't know anything or just keep your head buried in the piles of goose crap lining the ponds alongside 82nd street there since they started flying in. And the coach that asked me has no affiliation at all to anything east of Abilene, so I am confident it was not just a joke.
Honestly, I would only see it as Freeze using it as leverage to get a better contract negotiation at the conclusion of their bowl. But crazier things have happened.

Its true. I heard it from my brother-in-law's second cousin's wife that played round ball for Freeze at Briarcrest. Anyway, she is now an associate administrative assistant to the traveling press secretary for the Bears. She is the one coordinating the Freeze house hunt in Lubbock. Apparently Hugh and the wife are really big fans of the Guadalupe area. I hear its really nice this time of year.

I only looked on three tech free message boards.
I saw briles, kliff king, and a few others. One ref to mark hudspeth.
Where is the discussion?

You're not looking in the right spots. Not only that, but a friend of mine has an insiders description and he says it is all over their premium board. Also heard that Kincade may be looking to go elsewhere due to the talk over in Texas about Freeze leaving Ole Miss. Apparently Freeze is going to try and get Kincade to follow him there.

Those were both tweets involving the TTech job and Hugh Freeze. Looks like this is really picking up steam. Ryan Allen is an independant consultant for college football coaching searches and has placed several Division I coaches in the last few years. He knows what he's doing.

Well, I was joking because Twitter is probably the worst source of information on the planet. It's quick, but it's rarely accurate, especially in the beginning of the rumor. I saw one tweet on it, but it was just some random person.

It may end up being true.... it may not. But validity is questionable putting it lightly- because it doesn't matter really.

It's going to be nice to get Freeze away from OM and out of the SEC

Regardless of what most of us at MSU thought, he did miraculous things with the Bears, and slipped up and beat an unwary MSU team. I was hoping he'd stick around another year to give Mullen time for payback, but I suppose that's not going to happen. The Bears will have a really hard time replacing him because all the quality coaches are already being hired by other schools with the ongoing coaching carousel.

Also heard that he's leaving before the Birmingham Bowl ...

and Gruden said he wouldn't coach that game. So I guess one of the assistants will have to take the reigns to get them past Pitt.

He's not the dumb one...I wonder if there are any good croots that we can snag up once Freeze leaves and they start decommitting? We already have a blue chip QB, WR, RB, DE, OL, etc committed....maybe it will just help us out with Conner.

You heard it here first. If Freeze doesn't coach at Ole Miss next year, VictoryReb will pay NAFOOM $50
