Any idea on who they play the first quarter of the season? Who do they open up with?I know they are at Glenbrook South week 2.
I think it's Lake Zurich or at least it has been.Any idea on who they play the first quarter of the season? Who do they open up with?
Why would they be playing Metea Valley?According to the MSL schedule I was sent:
Week 1: at Lake Zurich
Week 2: at Glenbrook South
Week 3: Metea Valley
Week 4: at Prospect
Week 5: at Schaumburg
Week 6: Conant
Week 7: Hoffman Estates
Week 8: Barrington
Week 9: at Palatine
MV's schedule opened up. Shouldn't they be able to reach out to schools for games? Why would they be playing Metea Valley?
You are only allowed to schedule games against teams that opposing fans agree with....obviously.MV's schedule opened up. Shouldn't they be able to reach out to schools for games?
DVC playing crossover with MSL this year because the CSL (on a whole) are scaredWhy would they be playing Metea Valley?
What about DeKalb? Are they not playing a MSL team? These are the DVC-MSL matchups for week 3. The DVC is home this year.
Prospect-Naperville Central
Hersey -Neuqua Valley
Barrington-Naperville North
Palatine-Waubonsie Valley
Fremd-Metea Valley
Also, does W-L record or student enrollment determine these matchups? I guess I am asking which criteria determines which MSL team faces off with which DVC team? These are the DVC-MSL matchups for week 3. The DVC is home this year.
Prospect-Naperville Central

Fair but this seems like MV has to follow whatever the Napervilles do. So if North, Central, and Neuqua decide to play an MSL team to fill out the schedule, Waubonsie and Metea seemingly are forced to follow, which doesn't seem fair.MV's schedule opened up. They could always find their own games. DeKalb opted not be part of this.Fair but this seems like MV has to follow whatever the Napervilles do. Do you have Palatine's? Their Hudl doesn't have anything yet. I'd heard about Kenwood, Waubonsie Valley and Rolling Meadows, but that's itAccording to the MSL schedule I was sent:

Why did Dekalb not want to be a part of this? They could always find their own games. DeKalb opted not be part of this.

Only doing it because the Napervilles can't find non conference games. Dekalb stared a two year contract with Kaneland last year. Why did Dekalb not want to be a part of this?
Kind of interesting. I was under the impression that many of the conferences usually just go with the flow and have to play a common team/non-con opponent with these types of things.Ask DeKalb
Considering that MV has never finished a season with a winning record in its history and has won a grand total of 7 games in the past five years, it's not because it is particularly adept at scheduling that it has no problem finding non-conference opponents willing to say yes to a game.Metea Valley has no problem finding 4 non conference games.
I don't think you understand what MustangFB is saying. They're clearly alluding to the fact that Metea has no issues finding a non-conference game but because they're in the DVC, they seem to be forced to go along with whatever Naperville Central, Naperville North, and Neuqua want to do.Considering that MV has never finished a season with a winning record in its history and has won a grand total of 7 games in the past five years, it's not because it is particularly adept at scheduling that it has no problem finding non-conference opponents willing to say yes to a game.
One game with the other conference out of a total of four non-con games each year shouldn't be a big deal. Although MV has no problem scheduling games, as we both agree, this is just one less game that they have to schedule. Sometimes, schools do things for the good of the conference. Sometimes, it's a district decision and out of the individual school's hands.I don't think you understand what MustangFB is saying. MV shouldn't have to play the same non-conference games that those three schools do.
I guess we will see what happens with week 3 for MV.One game with the other conference out of a total of four non-con games each year shouldn't be a big deal. Looks like the intra-conference games with the MSL is in week three and that the week two game against Plainfield Central is safe.![]()
I don't think we should read too deeply into whatever happens in week 3 for MV. If it's a win, great. If it's a loss, well, what's one loss among many?I guess we will see what happens with week 3 for MV.
Will they be the next big thing out that wayMost talk MV has ever had on this board....
They seemed to be a lot more competitive in 2025 with a new HC. Time will tell I guess. Will they be the next big thing out that way
