His grades are really, really bad. They said they did not see how he would ever qualify. Do we know this?
First Ihave heard that he was even questionable.

courses. When BYU comes to Oxford the head of the Distance Learning department will be traveling with the team to give a lecture on how to implement this program at OM.

if what you say is true, he can take English at the Ole Miss Ed Center in Jackson and get eligible.

even more impressive than making straight A's in advanced classes.

I actually took PE at MC, and basically- and I know that this had to be a violation of MHSAA rules- but the basketball coach, who also coincidentally taught the class, had the entire basketball team in the class, and they used it as basically another practice period.

They sucked so bad, it's not worth the MHSAA's time to investigate. They would be stripping like, three wins from the whole program. The extra practice didn't help. Maybe they would have pulled the o-fer if they didn't practice that much- who knows?

But anyway, we did nothing in that class except for an occasional jumping jack, look at porn- back then it only came in magazine form, and do our homework. An occasional fist fight would break out as well.

And we all got an A. I'm not exactly sure how one would go about getting an F in PE to be honest with you.

No problem. Ole Miss uses some place called The Education Center. Also, OM doesnt need BYU as they have their own online high school courses.

It's called The University of Ole Miss.

and still got an A. I missed every class from mid-September until the end of November and when I finally came to class, coach told me if I came the rest of the semester he'd give me an A. I came to the final handful of classes and true to his word, he gave me an A. With PE first period and Mr. Dennison second, it was a pretty easy day.

It was pretty common for people in the "class" to blatantly go to their car and drive around town or wherever.

I probably would have done that myself if I had a car- I was just a freshman at the time.

reason he has really gotten himself in academic hot water. I hear he can pull it out but he is probably gonna have to change schools to do it. Brassell on the other hand has zero chance unless he follows the Powe path. It really is time to move on and we should honestly ask ourself the question of whether we should continue to waste our time at South Panola and Madison Central until the playing field is leveled. I think Mullen has moved on and we may end up having a better class in the end than we would have had with these guys, just have to wait and see. Really need to hang onto CJ and I hear Whitehead is overrated but I want to keep him too.

but yes, I do think that we should continue to recruit both schools.

If we are going to proclaim ourselves as the top team in Mississippi, and then just quit recruiting those two schools, it looks bad for us. It makes us look like quitters.

What you are suggesting is what Ole Miss wants to happen. That's one reason why they've pulled out all of the stops on those two.

The fact of the matter is we were awfully close to getting them to commit even with all of the obstacles in place. I think there is a better solution than just saying 17 you and going home. If nothing else, what we have forced them to do is force Ole Miss to pool up their resources on players that they "should have gotten" anyway- which would be like us having to pull out all of the stops on players from West Point, and therefore they don't have any to use on other players like Morrow and CJ.

The way to get rid of a snake is to cut off its head. Not to leave it in the yard and simply avoid it because the snake will continue to cause damage and present danger. But, if you kill the snake, then it can not cause you anymore harm.

We did what you are suggesting to Madison Central during the Croom era. It cost us Chaz Ramsey. Just an example, and MC was also down during the Croom era so that's really the best example I can give you, and they didn't have a whole lot of D-I prospects at that time.

I will also give you another possible example- the ninth grade team at MC (Rosa Scott) has a QB named Tyler Shell. He is Tony Shell's son. Now, I will say that I have never seen him play before- yet- but if he turns out to be really good, and we just drop MC, we may have cost ourselves a shot at a good QB who is also a MSU legacy- and hopefully Dan will still be around and will hopefully have sent some MSU QB's to the league by the time he comes around. And I will say this- if I had a son that was a QB in Mississippi and he was really good, I know who I would send him to- the guy that put Alex Smith and Tim Tebow in the NFL and has done wonders with Chris Relf, and it would take a hell of a lot more than 80K to convince me to do otherwise.

But I do understand why people feel the way you do right now.

I don't know why I am really frustrated because I can't think of too many of the great players from South Panola or Madison Central that have beat us over the years with the exception of the Jerry's. I guess Buckles was a pretty good player and yes Buckles was an MSU kid most of his life I believe but once he got involved with the handlers he suddenly changes over. It is just getting old and I know we can't quit.

Tony Shell's son is a Germantown Maverick, sono problems there unless we let Bobby Hall handpick the AD at Germantown which I hope doesn't happen.

Someone just told me on the phone that Rosebowl said that "he had work to do, but would get in".

So, I guess he won't get in.

So, Rosebowl was right- Tobias will be a Bulldog- a Holmes CC Bulldog.
