How can Florida be a bigger favorite at LSU than Bama at Ole Miss? It doesn't make sense in my mind.

I think Bama is the best team in the nation and the difference between Bama/OM is a lot worse than LSU/Florida.

Aside from the fact that lines are set so the books make the juice, my thoughts are this...

We scored a lot of points against LSU running a shadow of Florida's offense with a quarterback who may only be slightly better than Tim Tebow was in 6th grade. So, they're probably figuring Florida puts up a good bit of points, and Florida's defense will be the best LSU has seen this year.

Plus, Ole Miss has a tendency to play well at home in big games, and maybe they think their D-line can slow down Bama's running game.

you are talking about the worst offense in the conference against the best defense. And the best offense in the conf playing against an average defense.

The gap is not the same in the OM-Bama matchup. I can actually buy the difference in the line.

Public opinion is that Florida is invincible so the lines have to be set high to get enough people to bet on the other team. I bet if somebody wanted to check, they'd find that Florida hasn't covered often this season, and probably won't for the rest of the season either unless they lose a game and that perception of invincibility.
