good thing there is basically a 0% chance of us going 4-8 given our schedule. unless i've been missing something the last 3 years.

I think Gene C is a much more likely hot seat candidate than Mullen. At the end of the season, he will see I am right and should invite me to be an expert hot seat writer for BR

but that is awful. To imply that an MSU coach with back to back bowl wins and three straight Egg Bowl victories could be anywhere near the hot seat is insane. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that a 4-8 season this year would only start some chatter behind the scenes. Do that two years in a row... ok, he'll be on the hot seat. For right now, though, mentioning Mullen and hot seat in the same sentence is ridiculous.

Anyone can qualify a position with a 'what if'. Like 'what if' Mullen wrecks a Harley with a 22 year old Grad Student on it... Yeah he'd be on the hotseat then. Which is about as likely as State going 4-8. And when did going 6-6 and getting into a bowl game for 3 straight years become a fireable offense in Starkville? He'd get a raise and an extension.

Maybe this is too high brow for me to understand, I mean I'm not a "paid" sports write for Bleacher Report. I just write therefor free.

that the same SEC West that he is 3-12 against each year produced a National Championship, with one runners up. Face it, we play in a meat grinder conference and finding wins in the SEC West will be incremental.

Right now Dan Mullen can almost do no wrong at State. We've still got that post-Croom glow right now. We'd have to seriously regress into Ole Miss type badness in order for Mullen's seat to get hot. Let's just hope he doesn't become like Polk or Stansbury and become complacent. Honestly I don't see that happening though.

Barrett Sallee visited State, Coach Mullen caught him 'doing' a goat. That is just the only way to explain his 'feelings' about MSU and especially Dan Mullen. Obviously, he is trying to run Mullen off before word of his 'paramour' leaks.

of being on the hot seat than Mullen. Let him pull another 7-5 season especially with Alabama in the same state. 7-5 at State = happy fans. The expectations at Auburn are entirely different.

And remember, you take Chizik without Cam Newton - there is no difference in record between him and Dan Mullen from the past 2 years.

People are going to have to start seeing that national title for the outlier it is. He caught lightning in a bottle with Newton. Hasn't ever had a season close to that without him.

Also, most Auburn people realize that title was more because of Cam Newton than anything great Chizek did. He's not on the hot seat yet, but he's a lot closer to it than you would think.

Im not sure he gets another season. He may, but Im just not sure. He probably should, but I have never been impressed with Chizik, he is not a thinker, he is a Coach O or Muschamp type coach. Where yelling is coaching.

It won't help if Bama wins another National Title.
