Re: Miss. St.'s Banks wins Thorpe Award for Nation's Best DB Reply
I've looked a little bit at Miss. St's prospects for the upcoming draft.

Johnthan Banks is a likely mid to low first round pick (generally not considered as strong of a prospect as Dee Milliner from Alabama from the finalists tonight). Got burned a bit in the later games (twice in the Bama game) when he was still recovering from an injury, but still a great talent. He's a solid in run support, no problems sticking his head in to make the tackle.

Darius Slay, the CB on the other side is a great man coverage corner, likely a 3rd-5th round pick. He's a little weak in run support, I imagine he could be blocked out of a play by Prater easily. Not the best straight line speed, not sure he'd catch Mark from behind like Micah Hyde.

Nickoe Whitley, their SS is about as hard of a hitter as you'll see. If you search Youtube for his name, you'll get a bunch of his hits and those are all from last year. Some big hits in the A&M and Tenn. games. Not a guy you'd want sitting in the middle of the field when NU runs those drag routes.

Take my opinions however you may, I figured I'd post them as I finally have something solid to contribute.

Pretty accurate post about our secondary....until you get to the part in bold.

Isn't Slay the fastest guy on the team? I remember him coming out of high school clocking something like a 4.25 40*.
