Good for him. I always thought he'd be a good coach, and maybe this serves as a stepping stone for him.

Hiring an experienced staff is a bit of an issue for a first time head coach like Frost. They will have some growing pains. Ruud is a smart guy and should be an excellent college coach some day.

My guess is he will be instituting the Tampa 2 defense right away. I remember Frost saying in an interview he learned how to tackle in the short time he played in Tampa. At the time of the interview, he was a receiver coach, and said he was positive he could teach any college kid how to properly tackle. He said he pretty much went to Tampa tackling college the day he showed up and it was drilled into every guy how to tackle by the numbers. I hope he is a giant success where he is at so he can step in and become the next great young coach in Lincoln.

UCFK Nights? Sounds like someone had a sense of humor (& dyslexia) when they picked the mascot.

Quality Control? Sounds like Frost is throwing a bone to his buddy with no coaching experience trololol

Barrett was an intern on Pelini's staff in 2014, so I wouldn't say he has no experience. He'll essentially have the same role at UCF. It's not like he made him a position coach.

Hiring a former NFL player as an intern seems like a no-brainer to me, especially considering he spent most of his career in the state of Florida playing for Tampa.

I have to believe recruits would have to be impressed with Ruud. Looks like he will not be on road recruiting but apparently will take care of managing the recruiting.

He also hired Zach Duval who was Nebraska strength coach 1997-2002 and before that GA strength at Nebraska. Also a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. Don't know if we have had that designation at Nebraska for a while.
We had one 2 years ago as an assistant. He left before Marks final year
