If SF were to go to Miami (which is extremely unlikely), and he had success, you think he'd just pack up and move back to Lincoln........why?
Well, often former players will jump at any opportunity to return to "their team" as a coach. Logic tells us that because Frost was part of a NC year at Nebraska, and grew up in Nebraska, he just might view a coaching job at Nebraska a little more favorably than most coaches without those connections. But to the main point, I would like to see him get some Head Coaching experience somewhere before coming to Nebraska.

I'd also like to see him succeed at another school first, but sometimes you have to take a risk. He certainly understands the culture and could re-establish an identity.

There it is. The first official Scott Frost = Tom Osborne claim. Just like Solich = Osborne, and Bo = Osborne. Never mind those other 2 coaches, they will never succeed anywhere because they don't have Nebraska ties.
Frost is likely waiting for the Stanford job to open, which by every indication is his ACTUAL dream job, Nebraska is a fall-back plan.

Claiming that Frost is the next Osborne would be the height of stupidity on my part and I never said that. There will NEVER be another Tom Osborne. People in the know on this board (I'm not included) have said that we don't have the ability to attract a top notch coach like Saban or Harbaugh. If that is true then we either select from a 2nd-tier coach or we take a chance on an offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator that have proven their worth at another school.

Probably four or five years from now our AD will be selecting another HC. I hope that a search committee is used to make the next selection and that we don't automatically eliminate people that may not have had head coaching experience.

You mean like when we took Bo, even though no other program would touch him as the head man with a 10 foot pole? I agree. Also, I am not quitting on this staff. Just like with blo, it will be obvious when I sour on them. And that was not until his 4th year here, when it became completely obvious he had no respect for himself, this place, or the man that hired him. I don't care what he claims. His numerous actions showed he has absolutely zero respect for Tom Osborne, other than to change his tune when he knew a tape was rolling (so he could kiss ***, all while shopping for jobs he deemed "better")

A search committee might have prevented that from happening. Instead, Osborne made his own hire. When Devaney selected Osborne he had worked with him for a couple of years and respected what he had to offer. Solich worked with Osborne but that obviously didn't work out as well.

I am not quitting on this staff either and Riley deserves time to recruit and put his type of players in place.

Nebraska should hire Frost as the highest paid OC in the country and have him install the Oregon offense.
