This game got me thinking, so I looked it up. I think a team should win 99% of its games when they score in double digits, and very rarely lose when scoring 7+. This is what we have done this season. It is very telling.

Mississippi State is 13-9 when soring 8 or more runs.
Mississippi State is 6-5 when scoring 10 or more runs.
Mississippi State is 2-3 when scoring 12 or more runs.
Mississippi State is 0-2 when scoring 15 or more runs.

for us is that we have gotten about 6 outstanding innings from our pen. The ninth tonight is what usually happens when we call on the pen.

We are 2 above average relievers away from being in Hoover.

but after losing the best players from last years team- we are a better hitting team and probably about the same as last year pitching-wise...all while playing a tougher schedule

If this year's team had Weatherford and Moreland to come out of the pen, Cohen would probably be in the running for SEC coach of the year and we'd be planning on breaking the attendance record again.

Weatherford was about as good as we're ever going to see. His ERA was 0.00 for most of the year.

But if we had a guy like a Brett Cleveland type of guy even- and I thoght Brett was a good pitcher for us, but he is no where even close to what Weatherford was- we would be doing well.

Plus, and I've said this a million time, but if Bowen has a decent year and had gotten us about 4-5 wins, we're in a regional.

And Coach is right- you can't win without pitching, I don't care if you're Joe Torre.

And that is about coaching.

Not to mention, a lot of these players don't really fit Cohen's style all that well, and I think it has caused Cohen to be limited in some ways with things as far as baserunning is concerned.
