LJS article about the Duck's WR speed.

"When you study it, (you ask), 'Can you press him?' And if you can't press him, then you kind of back up, turn and run and then cover that guy and then make him make a clean catch. Make him have to put two hands on the ball," Stewart said. "That's all you can do. That's all you can do. You can't say, 'Shoot, he's fast, I'm about to leave,' right? So that's kind of the plan."

It made me lol but it's probably an old line.

Our dbs have played well so far this season, but they are going to have to play out of their minds with the lack of pass rush that has been generated thus far. Hoping some younger guys with speed can step up and bring more pressure.

They have an Olympic hurdle finalist at wideout. They have big time wheels at WR. This will be a test. I'm assuming we play nickel and dime the entire game.

Their QB is known for being a bit of an elusive runner, so I'm not sure we should be putting pressure on him... more like containment and staying lane/gap sound is what I would guess.

Maybe I'm wrong for it, but I'd rather go down with a QB getting scrambles for big yards than to sit back in fear of his legs and let him pick you apart through the air.

It would seem that most coaches prefer not to do this though. I'm not sure which is better, but it seems like 95% of the time, they consider it a pretty good idea to play disciplined rather than hoping your DL athleticism dominates an elusive runner.

Considering Parella's extensive background in the NFL, I could almost imagine he's not going to want to get his already tired front 4 (UO pace) into a footrace to the boundary with the QB every down.
