Do you object to the singing of "God Bless America"? Didn't they sing that song, too, before the National Anthem? What's wrong with another song also being played? It doesn't hurt anyone.
You have no idea of who or what I am. What growing up on the (poor) west side of Charleston and what I and (let me not offend anyone) “man of color” had to endure in the 60’s and 70’s growing up there.

Don't have a problem with a song being sung. Have a problem with a second national anthem for one country. Can I kneel when they play the second one? Can I disrespect the nation by doing so. You act like there is only one side to racism.
According to the NAACP website, the song was written by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson in 1900 as a poem that turned into a hymn. Call it what it is and don't call it the national anthem. The US is already divided enough because of the clown president in charge.

I'm sure you realize that the National Anthem didn't become the "national" anthem until 1916, and it was written in 1814. It wasn't written to be our "national anthem". My point is pretty clear. Actually President Herbert Hoover signed into law a bill that designated the Star-Spangled Banner as the National Anthem of the United States. The Star-Spangled Banner has been the official national anthem since 1931.
The current administration will not be happy until the US is in pieces.
