His effort defensively. He kicked a ball, then air mailed it, and he was very careless with some flyballs. Still dumb though.

for this guy to come alive or at least show signs of life at the plate. He finally does then gets benched in favor of Collins? Unbelievable. Well with a rain out tomorrow coming, this weekend's already 17'd anyway. I've never seen anything like this. We take a step forward then we take 4 steps back and most of it is on account of decisions like this. I can't believe I actually saw hope in this trainwreck at one time.

there's no such thing as "hot," "cold," "streaks," etc.... They're all mathematical illusions.<div>
</div><div>Not that Cohen is a Sabermetrics disciple with the absurd amount of bunting/stealing we do (I wonder why all of Cohen's teams have underperformed other than the 2006 UK team...), and Shepherd is probably better than Collins anyway, but the fact that he was good in the last game shouldn't affect putting him in in this one.</div>

Primarily because I've only got to watch about 3 games this year.... I will have to completely disagree with the assessment of hot streaks as "mathematical illusions".<div>
</div><div>Hot streaks are real. Ask Ben Zobrist and Lance Berkman. They've been on fire this past week. </div><div>
</div><div>Cold streaks are real too. Ask Carlos Gonzalez and Carlos Lee.</div>

If you flip a coin 10,000 times, you'll occasionally get 4-5 heads in a row. Does that mean the coin in "hot" for heads? No, it's just a statistical anomaly.

Collins did go 0-4 as his replacement in right. And if we had gone to extra innings, Shepard would have still been available to pinch hit.

didnt play in game two because of an injury sustained in game one, not because Cohen didn't feel like not playing him.
