Just don’t understand how a coach can continue doing the same things game after game that aren’t working. For the love of god try something different. I thought maybe Pope had convinced these guys that defense was how they were gonna win. But the Bellarmine game and now this debacle they’ve reverted back. Popes lost. And I don’t think he commands enough respect from these guys to change things. We’re done.

I don't normally like to make absolute statements at this point in the season but its hard to believe that we will see significant change at this point.

We got back into the game by driving the ball to the hoop. We just dig ourselves too big of a hole and couldn't get any stops on defense.

50 year UK basketball fan dating back to growing up in Oldham County. Discounting Gillespie, the last 7 years as a fan have been disturbing and disgusting. The state of the program is in shambles and obviously has fallen under Mitch oversight. Sound like broken record but Mitch needs to be fired now (at minimum). Pope needs to be fired, as I have seen enough. Whether given till end of year that can be argued, but he is wrong for role. When the basketball program and UK loses my interest (I bleed blue), there is a problem. No big check from this booster until this shitshow is addressed.
He did it one time, we left that dude open all game long, like we didn't know they were going to shoot 3's.
We have a coach that played a guy (Chandler) all game and he gave up wide open 3 after wide open 3 and made 1 himself. Why would you play a guy that continues to get burned like that?

Couldn't be more ready for football and seeing what kind of team Will Stein puts together. This sucks and is not what we signed up for.

I think it's just how he plays. He isn't a natural playmaker for others or a smooth, shifty handler. His handles is the opposite of SGA. SGA is slithery and smooth. Oweh is straight and violent. When he chooses it's time to score, he takes his chances with full intent to get it to the rim even if there is a brick wall in the way.
I loved the Pope hire. Now I regret it.
The man is unable to fire up his players for a Nationally broadcasted game and just embarrasses UK's legendary Basketball Program.
