Thoughts:

* It made me squeamish to see the Arya sex scene. Could they have not just made out and courted a little bit? It didn't even look like Gendry was all that into it, and she's probably going to be his wife if they survive.

* That episode was intentionally plodding in order to set everything up, sort of like season six where Jon is resurrected at the end of episode 2 where nothing happened but talking for 120 minutes. It was good but not great.

* Jaime Lannister has terrible taste in women. #TeamTormund

* Lyanna Mormont is the new Tywin. Love her.

* Bran not screwing Jaime in the trial is one of the best wrinkles in the show. Both have completely changed and to see them interact is awesome. The show gets **** for not being as good as the books but that is something that works better on tv than in print. To see Bran mangled, spooky, and aloof and Jaime grizzled, humbled, and proud is a great thing.

Ok so who dies next week? Davos, Beric and Tormund are the only ones I feel confident about, as they no longer add anything to the story. Maybe Jorah too.

Varys signs Podrick to a lucrative, yet financially unfair, record contract.

We find out that, instead of a weapon, Arya actually had Gendry produce the world’s first strap on, and now things are super awkward between them.

Speaking of which, have Sam and Gilly every gotten down to business? Drop little Sam over at one of the crypt statues and make a man out of Lord Tarley.

Tormund gets taken out by a zombie giant for messin’ with his mama.

Davos kills a white walker by singing to him.

A Mormont is going to have to kill a zombie Mormont. Write it down.

"The things we do for love" at the trial was a great moment.

I'll go as far as to say bran is one of the top 3 characters left. His haunting portrayal is a really stark change from the mostly whiny kid.

We've essentially got 4 movies left which is a lot of screen time- but yeah the first two weeks have moved a long slower than I imagined.

Pod's version of "Jenny of Oldstones" was :fire::fire:...

The Night King not being in the last shot leading the army kind of has me assuming he's not there with them at the moment...

Couldve done without the Arya scene...

The campfire storytelling was a nice funeral for Brianne. She's as good as dead now- but at least she got a moment of happiness...

So Theon- the biggest coward in the North, is protecting Bran?

Ghost sighting was awesome... Nymeria gonna get back in the mix?

Didnt hate it the episode like a few seem to have, thought it had a lot of "warm" moments with the cast right before all hell breaks loose.

I'm glad they're giving some characters closure and finishing storylines. The last four episodes will probably not have room.

Can’t wait to see what happens with Bran and the Night King. We do know that the entire army can be wiped out if the Night King is killed. And the Night King is nowhere to be found, so Brans planned trap for him likely won’t work.

I’ve got a feeling something crazy will go down between those two, like Bran warging into the NK and killing them both. Or something like that.

Warging a ice dragon wouldn't be bad either.

I don’t see any way this expected battle goes as planned — just two big armies slugging it out, as in the Battle of the Bastards. No way.

Some believe the NK is going to attack Kings landing .

One of the best episodes of the series if you enjoy character development, growth, and dialogue. If you don’t, game of thrones isn’t for you.

A lot of good thing happened .

Zero character development in this episode. It was more about closure than development. These characters become who they are by season started.

However the interaction of these same character after their growth is interesting sight to see .

When Jon broke the big news to Dany about Raegar and Lyanna, she appeared to take that a little better than I thought she would, given the implications. He also mentioned the names of the other two people that know about it. Could or would she make sure that they, along with their knowledge, don't survive the war? However, one of those name is Bran.

That’s what I’m thinking. Will she kill them in order keep the truth from everyone

Bran's quote about the things we do for love set the tone for the entire episode. Almost every encounter highlighted that characters love for another in some for or fashion. Interesting that Dany and Jon didn't have such an encounter.

I doubt it's possible at this point but I enjoyed the Bran = Night King theory that went around.

Yep. He was avoiding her at any point. He didn’t want to tell her.

The conspiracy theories of Game of thrones went off the deep end a long time ago. People try to make it more complex than it really is.

Next week during a battle scene either Tyrion or Jamie will escape a tense-filled death and when they let a sigh of relief, an arrow will come out of nowhere and Bronn is gonna go full on Jon Bon Jovi and will have shot them thru the heart. Probably Jamie...cause he gives love a bad name.

Maybe this has been asked before, but can White Walkers actually do anything to The Mountain since he isn’t technically alive?

her running looks to certainly be in the crypts of winterfell.

I think the dead Starks in the crypt get "woken up" by the NK, and that's what she's running from... maybe to warn others. They mentioned how safe the crypts are too many times in last night's episode for nothing to happen down there.

Ok so who dies next week? Davos, Beric and Tormund are the only ones I feel confident about, as they no longer add anything to the story. Maybe Jorah too.

Davos, Jorah, Beric, and Brienne are dead next episode. I think Theon too. His story is pretty much done.

Either Grey Worm or Missandei are also dying. You don't make future plans on GOT.

Tormund I can go either way on, but I predict he lives. He just seems like a survivor.

I think Podrick, Tyrion, Arya, Gendry, Jon, and Dany all live. Podrick I just like... the others have too much story left.

Jamie is the toughest for me. I still think he kills the NK, but I can see him dying after and Arya stealing his face to go kill Cersei.

Arya scene felt wrong the min it started. Borderline cp and should be cut from the ep. Tormund had me in tears with the breast feeding giant milk got him strong line.

Is he dead or just a zombie?
Just something about how there are different types of living-dead type folks running around seems important. Maybe it won’t mean anything.

Jon - resurrected
Beric - resurrected a bunch
Mountain - alive by ‘science’
Wights - White walker magic
And whatever Benjen was.

This. The dragon knocked down the freakin wall, how is winterfell supposed to stand against it?

Winterfell has two dragons, one of which I'm sure is a lot bigger than the NK's. The live ones should easily take out one.

I thought dragon glass killed ww but it was also used to stop Benjen from fully turning, can’t remember who did that for him but it may have been the tree people. Who knows if they’ll explore a cure angle, maybe they’ll be able to unturned everyone in the NK army when he dies. The mountain got a blood transfusion from rats blood, apparently his body partially rejected the rat blood and left him looking like ish but alive.

The Arya sex scene was nice. She’s 22. Kinda makes me wonder how she looked so young to begin with. Regardless it was one of the best scenes this season so far.

Really hope Davos makes it all the way. Can’t see Beric dying next episode unless he does something major before dying. There’s been too many mentions over the years about him being brought back for a reason for him to end up just dying off.

Maybe he’s able to work his magic and turn the potential crypt Starks into fire wights.

Bran had a line about the night king wanting to make everyone forget history or something along those lines. As in the wights have no memories. It’s always said that the north remembers. Maybe the NK raises the starks but they fight for the living instead because they have their memories. With “north remembers” being such a famous quote, I can’t imagine what Bran said was just a throw away line.
