I've called Direct two times now, both times I've been told that I get channel 696... but when I turn to the channel, It says 721 (call customer service) WTF man. Is anyone else having this problem? What package do you need to get the game?

and sign up for Sports Pack under the premium channel tab. It's $8.00 per month and includes channel 696.

iPhone Directv App shows the game on channel 790 which is a ESPN Gameplan channel. Says it is subject to black out in some area.

It's $11.01 on mine, but it's activated nonetheless now. Appreciations are thrown your way!

is Comcast Sports Bay Area (San Francisco). If the scheduled program is a Giants or A's baseball game and the game is blacked out, you will get the error message. The same thing happened to me Wednesday night when the Giants were playing the D'Backs. I called DirecTV customer service, they confirmed that I did have Sports Pack and should get 696. They suggested that I try again later when the programming is not a regional baseball game. I tried again Thursday afternoon & Friday night and was able to view the channel both times. Check again this afternoon and see what happens. For what it's worth, when I called DirecTV, they said that if the channel didn't work 30 min. before the game Saturday night to call them back and they'd give me ESPN GamePlan for free for the day so I could watch the game.

You call directv customer service with questions about games but they really don't have a clue! This check 30 min prior and call back if you don't get it is screwy.

I'm going to the game so not really a big deal but I do want to record it on the DVR for watching later. I'm watching channel 696 as I type and it's some paid programming. What worries me is that at 6:30, Directv will black out channel 696 so that you have to pay to watch it on Ch 790. Of course, I'll be at the game and won't know this happened until I get home and look back on the DVR to watch the replay. I'll be pissed if all I get recorded is that "call customer support message" for three hours.
