Refs getting paid per call, made the game unwatchable.

Just gotta go to the tin every time if they want to call it so tight.

Poor first half, much better second half, to say the refs were calling it tight would be an understatement, was ridiculous. AJSM can fill it up.
Clark and Hines were good. Decent depth this year.

Wow!
What a turn around.
Sha must have kicked a lot of asses at half time.
Maybe even threatened to fire some.
(can he do that?)

In the first half it was bad. The season so far, I'd say decent and better than last season obviously.

As far as Clarke he did contribute with 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Not bad at all. This was a game you just can't lose. So, they averted a season crushing loss with a really nice second half. Having said that it is still tough to tell if this can be a successful season?? I truly can't say at this point.

Starting to notice who should play and who shouldn’t.
Who shouldn't in your opinion? The only player who was horrible today was Rivera in his first minutes of action. Couldn't hit a free throw or a layup to save his life, but obviously he gets a pass coming off injury. Need to see more. There's nobody else who I don't want to see getting minutes though, so curious who you think shouldn't be

genuine question……would Hines and Payne on the floor together be the worst idea in the world?
Honestly it's not the worst idea because it's clear they are both among our Top 6 players. However, there's a few reasons that make it difficult to do:

1) Neither have any offense outside the paint so would really allow teams to pack it in on us

2) If both played starter minutes, I think they'd get in foul trouble. Payne is committing 6.7 fouls per 40 minutes and Hines is at 5.5.

3) Until Godswill and/or Suemnick return, we are going to need Payne and Hines to keep sharing 40 minutes at the 5. When we begin facing real competition, things will get tougher for them.

Was impressed with the big Greek kid on Monmouth. Even Monmouth is finding European pros. The broadcasters said young assistants who played pro in Europe help finding these guys because they have contacts in Europe. Unfortunately our top assistants don't meet that criteria.

Clark would have had 8 or more assists if guys could make layups in the 1st half.

Parker looked really good in the 2nd half tonight. He is desperately needed to back up Clark.

Dar isn’t impressing me
Fisher as the PF isn’t going to work
Parker isn’t doing much.

Bud needs to start taking more mid range jumpers. That looked real good for him. Otherwise he’s either forcing it to the rim or passing too much imo.

Staton-McCray looks like he’s going to be a hot/cold type player. But we’ll need him and hope he’s on.

I’m glad you brought up Josh Rivera.. He came in and whiffed on about 4 layups in 30 seconds and bricked two free throws. I wonder if I can see him and Wusu play 1on1. I’ll hang up and listen.

First half was ugly. Happy to hear they made the necessary halftime adjustments and won the 2nd half by 19. That’s encouraging.

Rivera just got back so give him a break. Dont like the missed bunnies but give him credit for at least being in the right position. Those shots will eventually fall

I think it was a wrist injury as well. I will say he is strong and physical. Would be great if he could spell Fisher with Pat Suemnick.

Rivera gets a pass since it was his first live action of the year. The fact that he was able to get so many opportunities in a short amount of time should be seen as a positive.

How anyone could not be impressed by Dar so far is baffling. His energy is off the charts. Always the first one to a loose ball & bangs hard on the offensive boards. Defense is spectacular.

Dar is also incredibly athletic and a good finisher at the rim.
Hoping his outside shot comes around. He came in as the top 3 point shooter based on last years stats.

Agree on both points. Dar is a better version of tubek in my opinion

Dar is a lot like Scotty Middleton to me. A whirling dervish of arms and legs on defense with good fast-twitch athleticism. That's the good part. He's a threat on the break but thus far his half-court offense hasn't been good. Not effective off the dribble and his best skill coming in (catch & shoot 3s) has yet to materialize (0 for 6).

He is one player I think would benefit a lot playing more with Clark.
