Make no mistake about it, technique is huge for lineman but strength and size play just as big of a factor if not more. Can't have linemen that get pushed around and can't push anyone around because they aren't strong enough.

Nice run by Boom, but doesn't this offense need to be throwing the ball the rest of the game? Barker and the receiving core need as many reps as possible prior to next week. I would sit Boom and let the receiving game get some work....

I'll tell you guys what I like more than anything I see tonight, the guys on the team are smiling and are having fun. They are enjoying the game and that goes a long way.

Yes it does. These players needed a feel good game. They can save their season next week with a Big Win against UL and make a bowl game. So getting a feel good game tonight was very important.

Hopefully this game gives our guys some momentum going into the UL game. Going to be an important game next Saturday.

Technique is HUGE for linemen. If you look at the NFL draft.....specifically the NFL combine.....you will see that most of the best WR's all have fairly similar speed, fairly similar strength, etc........same for RB's......DB's.....etc. But the lines will have strength and speed numbers that are vastly more varied when compared to the other positions. Technique just matters that much.

I would take technique, line chemistry, defense awareness and recognition.........over pure speed/strength talent when it comes to the o-line.
Then you would lose. Foot speed is the most important thing in the NFL.

It might be a woeful Charlotte team but this is the most energy I've seen from uk in a while.

Long admitted cynic here, but I do think we have to stop and consider the level of competition. They really belong in FCS. I think they are very new to this level, and have to start somewhere, but this one was never in question. Let's see what we think at the end of the night next weekend.

Yeah, this is great and fun to watch but Charlotte is horrendous. Let's see if this run run run the ball thing works against UL next weekend.

I never played football, but I thought most punt returners placed their heels on the 10 and let anything go if it's over his head, unless it has huge hang time.

Didn't matter in this game since Jojo had a huge run from the 8yrd line, but wasn't that still stupid?

I think Barker is like a beacon of light for the team. Almost like a fresh start for the guys. Think they consider it a new team with Barker at the helm.

God it was stupid to promote this team as an Air Raid offense because this team is built as a run team. Our O line isnt a pass protecting OL, its a run blocking OL. There is a reason why every successful under dog type program throws the ball as an identity.

EKU is still in FCS. That game should have been a whole lot more like this one.

Not for o-linemen. The average NFL lineman runs well over 5 sec forty times. Probably more in the vacinity of 5.3 seconds.

Now, make no mistake. There's not a single coach in the world that wouldn't take a guy that runs a 4.9 over one that runs a 5.3 if they were considered equal at everything else.
