Sure, I'll root for them this year Let them have their success.

Their senior dominated team this year will be a slew of underclassmen playing for the first time (and getting killed, no doubt) next year....and their coach is going to be wooed away by a bigger school (UVA, Illinois, Maryland) so they will go back to being a punchline.

So let them have their glory this year. For years to come, Temple will look back at this year as the high point of Temple football. Good for them.

Sound familiar?

Back next year:

DB/S:

Sean Chandler
Kareem Ali (redshirt)
Nate L Smith

(Tavon Young, Alex Wells, Will Hayes, Boye Aromire gone)

DL:

Averee Robinson
Praise Martin-Oguike

(Tyler Matakevich gone)

OL:

Brian Carter
Dion Dawkins
Semaj Reed
Adrian Sullivan
Benson Israel (redshirt)
Jovahn Fair (redshirt)

Jaelin Robinson
Aaron Ruff

(Eric Lofton, Kyle Friend, Shahbaz Ahmed gone)

QB:

PJ Walker
Frank Nutile
Logan Marchi

RB:

Jahad Thomas
Ryquell Armstead
David Hood
Jager Gardner
TJ Simmons (redshirt)

TE:

WR:

Brodrick Yancy
Cortrelle Simpson
Romond DeLoatch
Matt Eaton
Ventell Bryant
Adonis Jennings

(Robby Anderson, Brandon Shippen, John Christopher gone)

We return 12/22 starters next year, and it isn't much of an argument to say we'll be upgrading starters at LG and RG. If we can fill in the gaps with a JUCO DT and LB, we'll be in pretty good position with our roster.

Some of you are missing the real point...we shouldn't be and really don't have to worry about Temple taking the top recruits we want. What you have to worry about is Rhule getting a decent P5 job and he continues to recruit here. if he goes into a living room and gets to say that even at Temple, he went undefeated, ranked top 15, beat ND...

I'd go to the Gameday in Philly at Indepenndence Hall just to make the short walk over to Eulogy Belgium Beer Bar in Old City a few blocks away. Awesome beers and the best Mussels anywhere.

I'll take your Eulogy Belgian Tavern (great beer bar!) and raise you Monks Cafe a couple blocks away from Rittenhouse Square. I've found the mussels at Monks to be better than eve Eulogy. But both great places and wonderful beer selections, can't go wrong either way.

big difference between rhule and the other guys is he has 9 years invested in temple and went to several temple games the year he was a giants' coach. his wife worked at temple all but this year. his kid is the biggest temple fan ever. he won't leave but no one on this board will come on here in a year and say i was wrong about rhule leaving.

...you sound like RU fans did in the offseason after the 2006 season when I (and a number of others) thought we'd take a step back due to the losses on D and we got shouted down...until we finished 8-5. I heard all the same arguments (better talent in the wings, etc). I thought Temple was going to be a championship-caliber team this year, a sound team next year, but 2017 will really test the staff.

...just enjoy the ride you're on now; Lord knows you deserve it and that for programs like ours they don't come very often.

My humble opinion.....Temples gonna shock the nation and whoop ND....at least i hope so.I really think as usual ND is overhyped and no better than PSU...but the hype in this case will magnify TU's upset...rightfully so.I remember UConn and Edsall doing it to them a few yrs ago. Some teams need to be taken down a peg....ND is a great example.

While any team can beat any team on any given Saturday, your example is misplaced.

ND this year (and since Kelly was hired) cannot be compared to the talent and depth level of a Weis team, even with all of the ND injuries this year.

That ND team that lost to UConn went 6-6. This ND team would crush that ND team.

I love how people are trying to put down Temple when they are at 7-0 and will be in the national spotlight Saturday before the game. Rutgers fans would thrilled to be sitting at 7-0 with GameDay coming to town.

As far as coaches leaving, who cares? Rutgers is no different than Temple. They both pay on the cheap and if Flood was any good he would be gone too for bigger $$. Unfortunately no one wants Flood. This will be his last D1 HC job.

As far as who posted that Temple is building a stadium on campus. I'll let you in on a little secret. They have been saying that since I moved into PA in 1988. Don't hold your breath.

I think the only negative if a shot at knocking the Irish down a peg could ever be negative is the Temple fan base will be exposed and outnumbered by 5 to 1 at home. A big win though could gain them quite a few new front runner's.

It shows how backwards we have gone as a program when you have a 3 page thread where Rutgers fans are arguing with Temple fans.

Matt Rhule and his staff are very professional and all class. I am not surprised they are doing well. Good for them good for Temple. Bad for us that we are having this conversation.

Actually i'm a guy who hopes TU gets a P5 invite in the next go round of CR.....it would fit best in the ACC IMO as they need shoring up in the NE.

We pay our coach $1.5M despite playing in a lower payout, less prestigious conference. Indiana, Syracuse, Kansas, Rutgers all pay their HC the same or less.

Hold your breath, because the stadium is happening.

Good for Temple. This program has struggled for so long. It will be a full house and a very close game. 38% of the Temple players are from New Jersey. The Qb and star running back of course are from NJ.
