I love our team and Mississippi State but we have some glaring game day issues that could be resolved with just a little effort.

1) We have the worst pump up video I've ever seen. It makes me depressed just watching it and needs to be changed immediately. The music does not get anyone hyped and the shots move so quickly that you don't have time to react or cheer for any of the clips. The time is NOW to get this removed and insert a new video. This should not be a maybe we'll do better next year ordeal.

2) With an increase in fans you will see an increase in idiots. Why are we throwing away perfectly good alcohol over a Nickoe Whitley interception against South Alabama? For the love of all things maroon and white please increase security in the student section before someone dies a bloody death with a hit to the skull by a cowbell.

3) Can we get some new music playing before the game and use the jumbo tron to actually engage the crowd? I feel like we have come a LONG way with our game-day but we are starting to move in the wrong direction.

4) Cups....

I generally don't comment on these "gameday issue" threads, but I completely agree about the intro video. I'm not sure how the "Bulldog DJ" made it past the brain storming session, much less made the final cut.

Agree with those. And the video operator apparently wasn't watching the game. At one time, he was playing the Chevron race game and play started back halfway through the "race".

....except that they showed Tyson Lee and Toast Smith trying to be hard. So, not sure what happened. If the atmosphere doesn't get better with the Tennessee game, we'll know changes need to be made.

There are individuals on this message board who make videos ten times better than what we have, and I'm sure plenty of other students/DJ's/videographers around MSU football and/or the MSU program could do a better job. Why not hold an open contest or something among students to see who can produce the best one and then have the students vote on it... or since we love twitter.. which video gets the most retweets or mentions or whatever.

If you're tired of the bitching then do something to make it better.

So, the Chevron incident wasn't your fault, but the rest of the shittiness that goes on on that board and with the music IS your fault? Well, personally I'd rather you 17 up the Chevron commercial and get us a decent intro video and some decent music. Thanks. Do I need to create the 17ing video too? How bout a music playlist? You DO realize that is why YOU are in the media department and we aren't, don't you? Mother17'er, what is wrong with people these days....you are basically saying you aren't good at your job and asking random people to help you get better at it. No wonder our audio and video blows.

ETA: Please for the love of Jackie Sherrill, don't compare running a big *** video board to ESPN productions. Maybe use Public Broadcasting System as a comparison right now, or even America's Funniest Home Videos....something more closely related. I'm sorry, but it's been ****** for a while now, and to see someone involved get on here and get mad at the bitching, really pisses me off. How bout copying another team that does it good? When my friends and I stood up to yell on the first third down of the game the other night, not only did no one else that I could see join us, several people looked back at us like we had lost our minds. That doesn't have **** to do with any videos on the screen.

Purely technical request here... Please fix the distortion. It's imoroved since game 1 when it was completely unbearable. But it's still there and shouldn't be. It cheapens our world class audio system.

Agree completely. While song choices can be debated until the cows go home, this distortion cannot.

2. Change the intro

The Intro Music Sucks!

In 2010 and 2009 when "Req. for a Dream" was used that was at least a some what pump up song. Now it has become too PG and non-motivating. They need to play an aggressive song to pump up both the crowd and team during the team entrance. This was made a few years back, but I think it's way better than what is being used now, and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" seems to fit the use of cowbells.

"Super Cop" directing traffic on Russell by the road that fronts Bost

He needs some serious training in directing traffic and a crash course in not being an *** hole. There are actually two people directing traffic there, him and another man that I don't believe is law enforcement. Both wear bright green vests. Super cop posts himself near the road that exits from Bost and other guy posts near the road that fronts the Pike, KA, and SAE house.

I approached this area from 12 and zeroed in on other guy to direct me. I passed Super as he was barking at someone and not in a position to control my lane of traffic. I pulled up near other guy to wait for him to clear me to turn since there was heavy pedestrian traffic. While waiting Super cop finds it necessary to bang on my window and shove his finger in my face after I rolled the window down. Apparently, visual signals are no longer required to stop a vehicle and I should have stopped after him verbally telling me to as I was passing and already focused on his green vested partner.

If you are going to direct traffic there, post yourself in the middle to where it's blatantly obvious that you are the traffic control for that area. Then, when you walk away from the middle post, don't blow a gasket and feel the need to nearly beat somone's window in after they did the safe thing and defaulted to the other guy in a green vest to direct your movement.

I know it must suck to spend a Saturday directing traffic, but you have an obligation to be good at your job. When you mess up, don't let the badge go to your head. It's not an excuse to yell at someone like they are a toddler.

I walked by the area later to see how he directs traffic for a longer period of time. He had a lady in a golf cart pulled over and I could hear him threatening to arrest her. No clue what she did, but he was definitely yelling just to be an unnecessary authoritative center of attention.
