I'm really glad they moved - you never know if the snow would be as bad as forecast.

And who wants to sit in the snow or try to watch the game while it's snowing.....would affect play tremendously, not to mention higher risk of injury.

I agree and I posted that concern in a different thread. I was wondering if vhsl even allowed games to be played in snow, afterall this is not pro ball even if some of us think it is lol.

The issue is the travel. Forecast is for 6-8 inches in Richmond. 6-8 inches of snow in Williamsburg and Hampton will shut those places down. Just saw a video posted by Alabama Football and it's snowing in Tuscaloosa and the ground is covered. Some friends are travelling from San Antonio to the Army-Navy game and the plane had to be de-iced in San Antonio!

Footballs made to be played in the snow......bunch of pansies if you ask me.
I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Giving people a reason to be on the highways during snowy conditions, not so much.

If games are played in bad weather, VHSL loses money.

But they are probably losing money anyway by moving games from Lynchburg to William and mary.

I realize that the amount of snow is probably different depending on where you are, but judging by what I am seeing here (Waynesboro) it looks as if the VHSL made exactly the right decision. It would have been a mess having thousands more people than necessary out on the roads today while it is still actively snowing.

I am not thrilled by the sound of the wind that they say will be added to the mix tomorrow, but I guess we can handle anything for a couple of hours. So my suggestion is to stay in today, watch all the TV sports you can stand, and safe travels tomorrow everyone!!!
