Gas prices are headed higher, and a 'ripple effect' could make it worse in certain regions

So good that you guys care about energy prices having a ripple effect. You didn’t care four years ago. Same with criminals, letting them out endangers law abiding people.
cool story Tell the convicted felon POTUS to quit releasing violent convicted felons from prison and we'd be a lot safer. J6 Criminal Trump is soft on crime, shocker.

Ha ha, I’m talking about real crime not a process crime. The only person who was really injured was Ashley Babbitt and that low IQ officer has yet to be prosecuted.

More like trafficked little boys to older men.

Give him a medal for defending the capitol against violent MAGA domestic terrorists. He's a true patriot.
He’s a chickenshit coward. Fired point blank into a crowd. I expect that from a low iq affirmative action hire. FYI, he left his gun on a bathroom counter. That alone should have got him fired but affirmative action on DC is alive and well

The only thing that climbed higher than gas prices the past 4 years was the disapproval of President Joe Biden and his piss poor effort of running the Nation.

In January 2021, the average retail price of gasoline in the United States was $2.42. By the week of June 13, 2022 it had reached a whopping $5.11 per gallon. That’s up by $2.69. The 111 percent increase is, of course, much bigger than the increase in the CPI.

Exactly! and that bot @moe never said a word about it! Why does anyone pay attention to him? Once supply begins flowing again from all the new leases and exploration of previously off limit lands for drilling, we'll have more gasoline than we can sell! I 100% guarantee you will NOT find that bot @moe anywhere around here admitting this is just another in a long string of his mindless posts that didn't age well.

Thank God for thread revivals and comedy! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Trump creates council for ‘energy dominance,’ boosts natural gas exports and offshore drilling

excerpt:

Trump said he has directed Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to undo Biden’s ban on future offshore oil drilling on the East and West coasts. Biden’s last-minute action last month “viciously took out” more than 625 million acres offshore that could contribute to the nation’s “net worth,” Trump said.

Trump also vowed to revive a canceled pipeline that would carry natural gas from Pennsylvania to New York, saying it could slash energy prices in the Northeast by as much as 70%.

@moe
I remember when gas prices were below 2.00 a gallon when Trump was last Prez. It only cost me just under 20 bucks to fill up my 1994 Corolla! Boy do I miss those savings whew!!!!

You still driving that rust bucket around @moe?

@moe

Once additional supplies begin flowing from the Keystone XL pipeline and other new off shore drilling rigs that are currently being permitted, we'll soon see gasoline prices well below 2.00 a gallon again! ;)

supply > demand = lower prices!!!!!

Going back and reading the story, it’s kind of funny. Gas prices are going to increase in Deep Blue liberal states because of their own state mandated green energy initiatives, but everywhere else, they’re going to go down. But, running a national average, because of those deep blue states, it’s going to be higher in a 50 state average….ok.

Hahahahah

Headline should be “Gas prices expected to rise in states with crushing green energy standards and fall everywhere else. Are green energy policies hurting consumers?”

The company that was building the XL isn't interested. They lost their ***. Not sure if they are going to find someone to finish.

While that's certainly true, there's a new regulatory environment willing energy investors can take advantage of. Not everyone thinks it's still a lost cause.

Ex-Trump energy secretary reveals how long Keystone XL pipeline could take to finish

excerpt:
"I think if you could eliminate the inefficiencies in the permitting process and, frankly, clean up some of the judicial activity around this particular project, you could probably do this in about two years,"

We had the mvp pipeline sitting dormant for several years here in western Va. Manchin sold out his vote to the Dems for the inflation reduction act to get finishing it into law. It would have been stopped again but the law stopped them, I don’t trust liberal judges in the least

I agree they are an obstruction, but lots of the permitting process can be handled at the agency level. EPA, energy, commerce, and interior secretaries all have the green light to fast track new oil and gas exploration leases.

Leftists of course will challenge many of these in courts, however at many of the appellate levels in the Federal district courts there are more Conservative Trump appointees who will overturn some of the radical Left wing robes at the lower level courts where environmentalist wackos are filing a lot of these bogus lawsuits.

Permits were granted, judges ignore that. When it was put into law, nothing they could do. Now there’s been a few links but the stuff sat outside for years and rusted. Screw the enviro terrorist.

Of course I'm buying Trump's cheaper gas...what do I look like to you Trumpers, some sort of mind numbed TDS infected Leftist?

Well @moe most of us can affirm you buying Trump's cheaper gas now is probably the first bit of common sense you've shown since Trump first came down that "Golden escalator" back in 2015! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@moe
Now that's a bald faced lie atl...I was paying under 2.00 a gallon during Trump's first term to fill my '94 Corolla! So take that!!!!!!

Well good for you then @moe ...at least that heap has lasted longer than any of your TDS infected predictions about Trump! ;)

@moe 's "mostly reliable" '94 Toyota Corolla @ just over 700,000 miles! :joy:

(He's still makin' payments on it too folks!!!!!!) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We are going to have to agree to disagree. We should have embargoed them until the Soviet Union fell. However if I had my way we would embargo everything from China until the CCP fell. But I don't get everything I want either and that's not a bad thing.

Had a customer tell me a Yugo story once that after he drove it right off the lot brand new, the damn transmission fell out of the car less than 20 miles down the road!!!! No joke. :joy:

Turns out the transmission mounts weren't securely bolted to the subframe, and after a few miles bumpin' down the road, them summbitches had worked themselves loose enough to drop the whole transfer case right down onto the subframe. :joy:

Good Lord!!!!!!!

So he has the POS towed back to wherever the Hell he bought it from, and they wouldn't even give him a warranty replacement vehicle! Can you believe that????? (they just offered to fix that POS) So he sues, and gets exactly around 2K for the damn thing (think he paid roughly double for it back then...a little over 4K, but that's all it was worth...around 2K) and needless to say he was pissed and never bought another one! Talk about depreciation? Guy loses over 2K on that bucket 'o bolts just driving it off the freakin' lot brand new!!!!!! 🫤

True story.

The basic problem with those little cars wasn't so much their poor design (it was bad, but based on the solid VW Rabbit subframe) there was almost no parts distribution network for them, and a very limited number of authorized dealerships/repair facilities. So getting replacement parts for simple things like alternators and brake rotors was next to impossible. There was no working dealership interlink network, no regional parts wholesale distributorships or suppliers or vendors, and almost no authorized aftermarket repair facilities! Of course, there was also no internet back then either, so that may have been part of the problem they had establishing those critical parts supply links, but good luck finding replacement parts to fix the myriad of issues those little cheap cars inevitably came infected with. It was a nightmare, and part of the reason they were rendered essentially worthless once in aftermarket.
