Wow - awesome. Any bowl would be great this year, but to potentially play Auburn, UNC or Louisville is even better. Okay, Ohio would be less enticing. However, no one had us in a bowl this year - except me. I pick RU to win the natty every year.

While I love the idea, this bowl doesn’t have a relationship with the B1G.

Either he thinks from the long, very long, list of schools from the conference tie ins won’t be able to find someone or he’s just trying to be funny.

I’m going with the latter here.

Think it was once known as the famous Beef O;Brady Bowl the Rutgers fans still revere when talking RU Bowl appearances

I just looked it up and the plus is it's played at RayJay. I haven't been there in years.

Why would he be trying to be "funny?"

BTW - we would have a very, VERY good turnout IMHO. A Friday evening game in Tampa with Christmas not until Monday following the weekend? Couldn't ask for a better opportunity at 6-6 IMHO.

Did you take a peek at all the conferences, not named the B1G, that have a relationship with this game?

Aside from getting to six wins a whole lotta other stuff would have to happen for us to get this particular bowl.

Gasparilla is HUGE in Tampa. It's a big "pirate" festival "celebrating" the invasion of Tampa by a pirate who didn't exist! Ton of fun; went twice when I lived there!!!
I was down for Spring training and had no idea what Gasparilla was but found out soon from a friend at Cigar City Brewing. This was the Arts Festival part in March. Holy crap it was crowded. Ended up guest bartending in Cigar City's tent a few days. Lots of fun and brews!

We won't be thinking about the Gasparilla Bowl from the Rose Bowl CFP semifinal game 😤

(Obviously Tampa would be a super fun bowl!)

This was a move @JoeRU0304 and I talked about for years on here.

While I would still like it to be post-Christmas and have a higher purse, it's still so much better now.

Don't worry about the purse. It goes into the Big Ten pool. Raymond James is a fabulous stadium.
