BTW - we would have a very, VERY good turnout IMHO. A Friday evening game in Tampa with Christmas not until Monday following the weekend? Couldn't ask for a better opportunity at 6-6 IMHO.

Friday evening game OF Christmas weekend.

The game is Friday, December 22, Christmas is Monday, 3 days later.

Makes for VERY expensive flights but driving is not out of the question.

It's called the better than Yankee Stadium or Detroit Bowl

Exactly! As a bonus it is not played in Tropicana dome!
Right now it’s not on the B1G radar but do hope in the next round of negotiations this gets added or replaces a bowl.

Once this got moved to RayJay it’s stock IMO went up. Put it post Christmas like the Citrus Bowl folks do with the two games in Orlando and this is “buy” for the B1G.

Guaranteed Rate bowl should be our goal.
It’s a nice option and date for a once a while spot.

I think a Florida destination should be the primary one for now for attendance numbers.

But a Wisky squad got there at 6-6, so that is something to consider.

That’s why I brought it up. Think B1G Florida bowls are reserved for 8-9 win type teams

I did see Purdue (at 8-4) got the Citrus and Illinois got the Outback (8-4 too).

But there is that rotation factor too to consider. Which might explain why Minnesota went to Bronx with a better record than Wisky.

Make sure you sign up on the Gasparilla Bowl website for ticket interest.
They ask for your favorite team.
This can only help show our Fan support for RU Football!

But 8-4 is basically 2-4 place once you pull out playoff team and Rose Bowl

Be a nice opportunity to get down there a bit early and hit Bern's.
Haven’t been to Berns since 2007. Once picked up the tab for 12 of us that included great wines and drinks and then the desert room. Think it came to about $3500

I'd rather only see bowl projections once we have 6 wins. These early projections, especially posted on this board, has jinx all over it! 😆
Especially when Johnny Langan says the dreaded words: “I think we’re going to shock a lot of people this year.” How many times have we heard that? Players should be advised not to say that.
