that we needed Alabama to beat South Carolina to move everyone in the SEC up a rung on the bowl ladder.

Now that Bama is out of the BCS, we will be a lesser tier bowl game.

Dear Idiots................we have not even qualified for a bowl game.

I'm so not worried about bowl status. I hope this thread is a joke.

don't realize that the SEC will still get two teams into the BCS. That loss didn't hurt us at all.

of a great big piece 'o cow consumed last night, and on MSU's tab to boot. Enjoyed meeting a goodly number of State fans both on the flight from Jackson, and at the team hotel yesterday.

Barely a cloud in the sky right now (4:15) and not many more folk outside the stadium for that matter. I'm seated press box front row (thanks to former MSU p.r. aide Cassie Arner who is now running the show here at Houston) and the 42 yard line. Of course there are only two rows in the press box; this is an old facility that's been face-lifted a few times but really needs a major upgrade...which I hear will be done in three phases over the years.

Another way to look at it: this is the difference being in a major conference makes over time. Houston has done a lot more winning the last 20 years, compared at least to MSU...but even our lower-level SEC facilities blow this away. No wonder non-BCS schools so despise the system which we at State have every reason to prefer to anything else.

<font size="6">And speaking of BCS stuff...man, USC-Bama is putting me in a bind. Y'all know who I want to lose personally, but we need Alabama locked into the title game to open up the SEC's bowl ladder a little more for us!</font></p></div></td></tr></tbody></table>

In case no one has noticed, Auburn and LSU are also undefeated. If LSU can beat Florida today, and then beat Auburn and Bama they could do it. I'm not doubting Les Miles voodoo.

And Auburn has looked pretty good.

After today, I certainly think South Carolina could get a BCS bid, and Alabama could still win the West and win the SEC Championship Game.

What happened today has and is going to have very little affect on our bowl slot should we become eligible. We need to take care of our own business and leave it at that.

Even though Bama lost, there will still be at least 3 SEC teams in the top 12 at the end of the year. So an SEC team will get the auto-bid to the Sugar Bowl as well as one of the at-large BCS bids.

They are 17ing stupid just like espn for throwing up Alabama remaining SEC matchups have a buy week.
Ask 17ing Alabama why they are taking one before a conference team.
