People's heads will explode tomorrow if the Mountain West gets 5 teams, and the ACC only gets 3.
It's all going to depend on which metrics they value the most. If you look at NET rankings, you get a very different predictive measure than what we're seeing on television. By the way, Lunardi ranked 118th among "bracketologists" over the past 5 years. I actuallly like him, but it amazes me how people (me included) hang on every projection.

Source is "The Bracket Project"
Jerry Palm of CBS was 164th

There are 179 bracketologists that are ranked.

Lunardi is very good at what he does…I wouldn’t take the Bracketmatrix’s scoring system as some type of definitive guide

118 out of 179.
It's pretty much a direct score of how many they correctly placed in the field and on the correct seed line.
And, I fully admit, I like Lunardi

And they have seeding way too impactful, and getting the teams correct less so. And give no credit at all to correctly getting regions and pod sites correct, one of the more technical aspects of it. They made up a scoring system, and it’s great that they track it all, but many put way too much stock into it.

I'm going to take your word for it because I could not find a "scoring criteria" on their web site. However, they do accept and score seed lines. But, that's neither here nor there, I will be interested to see what metrics are valued the most by the committee. I like looking at NET rankings and Ken Pom. Quad 1 wins seem to be the hottest topic by the TV guys. It may end being the case. If it's not, I'm interested in what was.

Here is their methodology…
Using the final results from past matrices, each site was graded based on a scoring system made by Paymon at PHSports. This rubric awards 3 points for each team correctly picked, 3 points for each team correctly seeded, and 1 point for each team not seeded correctly but within one seed line. With 68 teams, a perfect score is 408. The variance section of the data table below lists the absolute deviation between each score and the mean for that particular year. Thus, a 10 point variance means that site's bracket scored 10 points higher than the average bracket that year.

A lot of people aren’t fans of him as an announcer, but he’s a heck of a person and it’ll be a sad day when he’s done calling games.

Old man yelling at clouds: yesterday Cooper Flagg was wearing a diamond-encrusted necklace that put the “O” in “ostentatious.”

Wisconsin and Michigan are a combined 7-35 on three points shots, at 2:30 left in first half. It’s the only game on, f me.

Questions for those of you who follow NOVA closely:
- Big talent drop off since Jay left?
---Losing out on Philly area & mid-atlantic recruits?
- NOVA as an institution/alumni base lack of NOL support?
- Or. talent there but coaching sub-par?

I await your views. Thanks.

7-41 at halftime. Michigan has great interior defense, but Wisconsin just isn’t pushing enough, they’re settling.

14 sec teams in the tournament. I guess it really does mean more.

Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of interest in watching the SEC tournament part 2. Maybe it will be like the year the Big East got a ton of teams in it and only like one of them got to the Elite 8.

Sorry but unc didn’t belong in the tournament
West Virginia lost their best player around Xmas. They had two Q1 wins (Kansas & Iowa State) after he got hurt. Carolina had 1 Q1 win the entire season. They're the ones that have the biggest gripe.

The steal of the century was Oklahoma getting a 9 seed. They lost *13* conference games, which should have earned them a ticket to the NIT or in an act of charity, a guaranteed trip to Dayton. Instead, there was never a doubt they were getting in.

I should move to West Virginia, seeing as they have no real issues to deal with.

Seriously…it’s so ridiculous to try and get the courts involved.

UNC AD Bubba is the head of the selection committee and gets over a 100k bonus if the Tar Heels get a bid . No conflict of interest there .

Well, I guess North Carolina showed me and the millions of others who did not think they belonged in the tournament
They still didn't belong (since it's based on what you've actually done to date, not your "potential")...just as if Kansas goes out and wins it all, the committee wasn't incorrect to give them a 7 seed. But they certainly are good enough to make a run.

i understand all of this, probably better than you as a former D3 coach, but its more of the fact that they at least came out with the 'lets prove them wrong' mentality and helped their AD out

defenders lost their responsibilities and ran in to each other. Man on the ball was not much of a presence to affect the pass either. If you arent going to be 'big' on the ball, you need to drop him back as a safety to help in the middle
