  . I was there in 2013 as Justin Rose took down Mickelson for the win.

It was a weird announcement today...we already know that they had all of those US Opens.

I'm thrilled that the USGA is giving them the men's Opens...it's such a small footprint compared to other venues and they have to do some odd things to the course layout to make it work, so I was worried after 2013 that it wouldn't return for a long time.

The PGA tour needs Bryson. Badly. It needs bad guys like Rahm and Reed too.

The Tour needs to make room for some spots - even if they make them play Korn Ferry events to get back to full time exempt.

Which players from the final top 20 FedEx points list would you consider "interesting"?

I got nothing.

Ryan Armour is just a Senior machine. 63 round one. He might not give this one up. He doesn't do stupid **** out there like Eric does.

Yesterday's round at SAS was some of the worst golf I've ever had to watch. There were more missed short putts in that round than what I see out of people I play with on a regular basis. It's crystal clear out there today but with wind (though they are playing lift-clean-cheat) so hopefully it's better quality today.

Bryson continues to put out great content. I never would have thought of this. I told Horvat to fly out and play with Alice Cooper and he liked the idea.

Still marveling at the Bryson/Amish video. Anyone ever play Honey Brook? Seems very close to New Holland.

Just down the proverbial road from the Shady Maple Smorgasbord. I’ve driven past delivering Amish folks to their homes many times, but never played there. The land dispute had my interest. I looked it up online with google earth. I can’t figure out why there was a dispute. Anyone know? I’ve been to one of the course’s neighbors, but not the one with a dispute.

I couldn’t believe how good those Amish kids were, and how they ham and egged it to that score. Thanks for sharing.

Bryson would stick his giant putter grip in the ground on the green next to the cup, and all 3 of them would hit the putt exactly there. Almost every time.

It's between New Holland and Downingtown, actually just into Chester Co. Supposedly a pretty nice course from the people I know who have played it. I have just driven by going to other places. I found the episode interesting.

Incredibly 14 PGA players made every putt inside 3 ft. this past season. I believe all putts from tap ins to 3 ft are in this grouping. Still amazing all variables considered. Michael Kim lead the group converting 912 putts.

That is incredible. I've never thought about it, but if you had asked me I'd have guessed half that number.

BTW, I was bragging on Ryan Armour and how he doesn't put up Eric Cole #'s on the weekend and he did just that on the front 9 on Sunday - even w/ lift, clean, place. Unlike him.

2 tournaments left in the Schwab playoffs. Hope he can win one of them.

Zach Johnson will probably win at least one of them.

And Michael Kim said he spends zero time practicing from 3 feet and in.

@MtNittany - fired my Eric Cole bullet in fall fantasy this week. Solid start today.
If Eric ever wins it will be on a US Open or PGA type course OR a really easy course. Nothing in between imo.

From a betting standpoint - I used to bet him at 250-1 to win for a few bucks (and lost 2 playoffs). Then, he was undervalued. Now, he's sort of overvalued.

Played there many times. It's an OK course...nothing spectacular, and can get windy since you're in farm country. They do have a nice bar/restaurant, tho.

However, currently you only play 17 holes...but pay for 18! You skip one hole on the back 9...from what I recall, neighbor claims the land is his....must be true, since a simple survey would confirm it. Been that way for several years now so I can't figure out why they haven't resolved it yet.

My favorite guy. I wish he'd spend more time in Jupiter and less in Greenville (1 syllable, btw). He is more Hogan than anyone on tour, and his swing style will be lost soon. I witnessed him go through two full tins of Copenhagen in one round. Respect.

Which is the secret. When you know the outcome in your mind, why practice it? Doing so would actually be a sign of weakness.

If you told me when I was 19 that I'd miss a crucial 3-footer, I'd have laughed at you. If you told me today, I'd ask you if it was for 4 or 5, and did I make the come backer.

Our village-owned public course is unveiling its new $15MM clubhouse rebuild this afternoon. It’s not a great course by your fancy standards, but it’s nice and I can walk there. Chicago Botanic Garden is on the west side of it.

We’ll also have a restaurant and cocktail bar less than half the distance that our “downtown” ones are.

Lookie if you dare

My best friend runs a Village owned golf club (North Palm Beach CC). It's a lot of work to say the least. Countless Village meetings and budget decisions. It ain't as easy as hanging out at Seminole for sure.

They rebuilt their clubhouse about 5 years ago and it turned out fantastic. Looks like yours will too.

It will get a lot less attention than the Bryson penalty at the British Open this summer, but a similar one today with Rory. Do I think he improved his lie? Yes. Do I think this penalty would be applied fairly across the entire field? Absolutely not, since there wouldn't have been TV coverage, a good zoomed in angle, etc from 80% of the field. Really tough to figure out where to draw the line on this (golf has always relied on "self-policing", and the use of TV/technology is still heavily debated).

Not a Rory fan at all, but I see it - barely. Simple solution: Don't ground your friggin' club.

Agree completely...same as I felt in the British this summer with Bryson's penalty (he shouldn't have walked behind the ball like that). But in both situations, you'd have to agree that approaching 90% of the players in the field wouldn't have been called for a penalty if they did that today, right? That's what makes me uncomfortable about throwing these penalties out there for those heavily-covered players. Everyone should be held to the same standard. (though I won't give too much sympathy to them when they were in the wrong for their actions)

The standard problem is that there are few cameras on Nick Hardy as he's teeing off at 8:07 on #10 ready to maybe shoot even par. In Bryson and Rory's cases, well...

I almost feel like I don't care if the video shows him nuzzling and even moving the ball. If a rules official, or a fellow competitor, or he himself doesn't make it right, then so be it.

The inherent threat of camera footage is great. Using it for rulings, not so much imo.

Did Bryson call him a cheater like Rory did?

It's gonna be funny when Bryson enters the first Korn Ferry event, wins by 8 shots, and says "Does this get me on tour? Or do you need another one?"
So many good players on liv, at this point it did a lot for golf. Time to get all of those players on tour. The tour is so boring without them.

I'd say "so many good players on tour, and those players need the tour a lot more than the tour needs them". Not once last year did I say "hey, Brooks Koepka is playing today, now that will make me watch" (then again, I'm watching every week regardless). After what those guys pulled, I'd hope that the punitive penalties are enforced to prevent it from happening again.

One of the problems is that there were both likeable and unlikable guys that left. Most of us have made stupid career, or other dumbass decisions along the way. I'm fine with putting them on the Korn Ferry Tour and disregarding their world rankings as far as PGA Tour events go. They should pay. But not forever.

An aside, their leaving probably opened up exemptions and opportunities for a lot of young players the past few years. When/If they all come back, the tour will be obviously stronger than ever.

Brooks is one of the unlikables, btw. He doesn't want to be on either tour. He'd much rather be pitching for the Pirates.
